Quality printer flawed by small cartridges

Bearman, Amazon
25 June 2014
  • Summary: When my excellent old Epsom Stylus Photoprinter (7 cartridge machine) had to be replaced due only to the lack of Windows 7 drivers, I decided to go for a machine capable of A3 prints. Although considerably cheaper than my old Epsom, I read enough positive reviews to convince me that the technology had progressed and this printer would more than match my Epsom.

Great for Graphics Printing

Michelle Charter, Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this as Canon is the best printing brand which i have used. Starting up a wedding stationery business, I needed something which had crisp quality and could take good quality thick cardstock. Without moving up to the professional range (which is about 4 times the price), this was the best option available. It prints up to A3, and as small as 6cm width, so a wide variety of paper sizes can be used.

Good for the price

ICM ROSSENRODE, Amazon
30 April 2014
  • Summary: I bought this primarily to print some of my illustrations and photos and so far it has given very good results on 'watercolour' and 'canvas' papers. The few tests on glossy photo paper are high quality (resolution), but I am battling to get more natural colours, as printing from both, Photoshop and Illustrator, with various colour and saturation adjustments, are still giving my prints too much red....

Excellent Printer at a reasonable cost for A3

S R Davies, Amazon

  • Summary: This is an excellent quality printer, I bought it for my business as I need to print on A3 paper and it is worth every penny. The print quality is excellent and I haven't found anything that I could possibly complain about.

Does not include cables

astockwelluk, Amazon

  • Summary: I'm not able to comment on the print quality as the product does not include the cables necessary to set up the machine. You can pick up a good photo printer for £50ish so when I spent £150 on this one I expected it to work out of the box but it is supplied with a US power lead and no USB lead to conect it to your computer. This is a pretty poor show and an extra expense I was not anticipating. Not impressed by Canon on this one!

not a good printer

Mr. Roy Tomkinson, Amazon
31 March 2014
  • Summary: This was sold with a cashback offer from Canon, this was not forthcoming. Worked ok for about 3 months (uses lunatic amounts of ink) then started printing jagged white lines on the prints,Canon service hopeless. Did not use for a while tried again still has the lines and now prints with a diagonal slant and makes nasty noises. Had new inks fitted and by the time it primed half the ink was used up plus about 20 mins.

Superb Printer

Sceptic, Amazon
29 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this machine in 2013. It is without doubt the best printer I have ever bought although canon inks are very expensive, you can get recycled cartridges from other sources at very reasonable prices. I make a lot of greetings cards which requires pretty thick paper and which jammed my HP A3+ every time. The Canon, because it feeds from the back will take 280 - 300 gsm easily.
