Canon provided software doesn't allow you to save/export your design work!

Ronald A. Stordahl, Amazon
11 November 2015
  • Summary: I purchased to print on surface of printable CD/DVDs. The Canon software didn't work. The supplied CD was dated 2015, but the printing software was from 2013, version 1.1.2. I found on the Canon site the current version 3.3.0.

Got a quick print job? Look somewhere else!

K-Chip, Amazon
9 September 2015
  • Summary: I have owned (or currently own) 7 printers including this one -- 5 HPs and 2 Canons. The reason for buying this printer was three-fold -- (a) my terrific experience with the Canon imageCLASS MFC4200, (b) HP's dwindling quality, and (c) the ability to replace individual ink cartridges.

Dead in a year

John N., Newegg
6 May 2015
  • Summary: Very disappointed with Canon's declining quality and shrinking ink tanks. They seem to be getting as greedy as H*P. I will have to think about my next printer purchase.
  • Pros: Primary use was for CD/DVD labels, for which it worked fine.
  • Cons: Died in a year. The printhead will not print with pigmented black ink. Bought this printer to replace another Canon with a bad printhead.

Color ink HOG!

D'King, Amazon
18 April 2015
  • Summary: This printer is designed to use color ink almost exclusively. In fact, according to their technical support the ONLY time it uses black ink is when it prints a text (.txt) document in "fast" mode (very faint and difficult to read), portrait orientation, non-duplex (printing both sides).

Extremely frustrating

dlc, Canon
17 November 2014
  • Conclusion: Date:November 17, 2014 If you've used and enjoyed an older Canon inkjet printer, then you will despise this one. At least, that's my experience. All I wanted was a replacement for my venerable old iP4000.

No rear feed = FAIL

NYC Photo, Canon
8 October 2014
  • Conclusion: I have been a loyal Canon customer for many years, promoting their brand every step of the way but Canon made a huge mistake in removing the rear feed tray from this photo printer.

Sad little printer

Jeremiah P., Newegg
29 August 2014
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: -Takes 10 minutes to print out anything -Not user friendly -Horrible software -unintelligent design, and overall, leaves MUCH to be desired -Must be connected to a computer via USB in order to be switched from direct connection OR network. It can not do both, and you have to re-run the horrible s...

Awful. Awful. Awful.

Scott, Canon
20 June 2014
  • Conclusion: Expensive ink cartridges with proprietary chips that are so small they dry out before you can use them. A buggy, slow interface. WiFi does not work properly. There is nothing to like about this Canon product.
  • Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, unreliable, expensive ink, short ink cartridge life

Carefully Read All Reviews - The 4 Stars and 1 Star are Very Similar!

Daisy, Amazon
26 April 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this as a replacement for my IP4500 which was fast, quiet, and excellent at printing both text and photos. I am returning it because it is slow, noisy, and is not excellent at printing.
