Conclusion: Date:November 17, 2014 If you've used and enjoyed an older Canon inkjet printer, then you will despise this one. At least, that's my experience. All I wanted was a replacement for my venerable old iP4000.
Conclusion: Expensive ink cartridges with proprietary chips that are so small they dry out before you can use them. A buggy, slow interface. WiFi does not work properly. There is nothing to like about this Canon product.
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, unreliable, expensive ink, short ink cartridge life
Summary: Slow & CD/DVD printing does not work. Once the ink runs out this baby is going right to dumpster. I gave it one star to be able to write my comment for people to know what to expect buying it.
Summary: I bought this printer because of it's top rating on Consumer Reports, but now I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep it, or just put up with it. For one thing, 1) it's HUGE. I can't believe how big the footprint is, for a single-function printer.
Summary: I love my IP 4500. It stopped working before I got to doing my Christmas cards so I bought this for back up. Consumer report gave it top billing. the IP 4500 took itself on-line and started working so I did all my work from there. Today 2/20/2014 I opened the IP7220.
Summary: Noisy. Shakes worse than jello. Head cleaning maintenance at startup each time you wish to use the printer is designed to waste ink. Takes too long to be ready to print. Takes too long to even get a print. If you are thinking of buying this printer...don't. Waste of money.
