Summary: Purchased the printer in a set that included a Fax, and Scanner but kept the printer in the original box since my Canon I850 was working great. Recently switched printers and have had nothing but problems with the IP6310. Since it remained in the box for the past couple years returning it was out of the question. I was very disappointed in the quality and cheap material.
Summary: I have owned this printer for about 3 years and it died all of sudden. Lots of pictures printed over the years mostly on 4x6 photo paper and always purchased ink in bulk tri-packs using the 51&52 cartridges. Images are always sharp and clear as from a lab. I was lucky to find the same model on ebay for $70 new-in-box not a refurb and it is working great. If it last another 3 years this will be the best photo printer I have owned.
Summary: Currently, my printer reports an error that "The ink absorber is almost full". Canon tells me that the printer "is at end-of-life" and that maintenance and parts are no longer available. It was a good printer, but I am told that once the ink absorber is completely full, it will stop working altogether. Canon told me that the nearest repair center is what amounts to over an hour away. For my next printer, I will try to find a company which has a better maintenance policy.
Good all around printer for your point-n-shoot digital camera
29 July 2009
Summary: This is an excellent all-around printer for those who aren't too demanding in their choice of quality printers. It's perfect for the average family person who just needs the convenience and ease of printing what was shot with the digital camera over the weekend. Don't get me wrong - the output of the final results are quite impressive (especially now that it's under $60), but for those who have a more demanding eye for perfection and need more 'professional' results,...
Summary: I needed a simple, inexpensive printer to print out my personal photo's. When factoring in the 2 included inkjet cartridges, this printer is just about free. The photo's it's printed for me look fine to my non-professional eyes. So far, I'm very happy with this printer as opposed to the utter frustration I experienced very quickly with my prior HP all-in-one. I had received the HP for free when I'd purchased my Macbook, and I had nothing but problems.
