Great Printer, but........

johntherougarou, Ebay
4 June 2008
  • Summary: I got this printer for my wife and she loves it. The thing I didn't like are these printer manufacturers holding us hostage with chips in the ink cartridges. I bought the printer and should be able to buy the type of ink I want. Why do I have to pay outrageous prices for factory ink? Epson can shove it too. I had an iP5000 that can use generic ink and is indeed a blessing and a budget saver. If you want to spend a fortune for ink, then buy this printer.

Good little printer...

T. Ogilvie, Amazon
20 June 2007
  • Summary: This printer came free with a digital camera I purchased from Amazon, and I have not been disappointed with the printer. The printer came with everything I needed in the box to connect it to the computer, and it came with ink and software as well. It prints about average speed, and has various print quality settings to choose from when printing photos. For text, I have a B&W laser printer, but I kept this one for the occasional color document and for photos.

Canon printer

David George, Amazon
20 June 2007
  • Summary: I just received this canon printer this week, i tried it out over the weekend with the new digital camera that i got. personaly i can say that this printer works wonderful on photos. I am not sure how much ink it will use yet since i just got it, so that could be the down side to this printer. I also haven't tried to print any documents from this printer either, so that could be another down fall.

A little disappointed in my printer upgrade

Dex L, Amazon
20 June 2007
  • Summary: I have been using a Canon i550 for several years now printing calendars for my family around xmas time. Each calendar is 13 pages and I print about 20 of them (13 x 20 x 2 sides = 520) at high resolution. I use a lot of ink and the Canon cartridges are easy to refill. The print head died on the i550, so I searched for a new Canon that had similar ink cartridges to refill.

GREAT PRINTER

S. Tate, Amazon
20 June 2007
  • Summary: This is a great printer for making quick prints of your photos or other documents. For what I use it for the speed is okay. The only thing you might have to watch out for on this printer is the ink cartridges. Since a few colors are in the same cartridge, if you run out of one color you will have to replace the whole cartridge. Even if the other colors are still full. Other than that, a great printer for quick prints.

  • Excerpt: I bought it at Fry's (08/06/06) for $19.99 after $50.00 mail in rebate (30+20).
  • Pros: Small, cheap and sounded like a quiter printer
  • Cons: Installation was a little issue. Haven't used much to see the cons.
