Summary: This is an all-around great printer, but really does a super job at printing photos on glossy photo paper. If your photo file is good and you get decent photo paper; you will not be able to tell the difference between photos printed on this, and those printed at walgreens/walmart/etc.
Summary: Canon PIXMA iP4820 Inkjet Printer. Had a little trouble seting it up, but blame that on me for not reading the instructions first. (As it is said, "If all others fail, read the instructions first!") Got this printer to replace my old Canon iP3500.
Summary: After quite a bit of research I settled on this printer and I am very satisfied. The setup was very easy, just follow the directions. I use it on an imac. The photo quality is amazing and professional looking. It's a nice looking printer that doesn't take up a lot of space.
Summary: Canon PIXMA iP4820 Premium Inkjet Photo Printer (4496B002) Print quality is outstanding, and although it does clean the head often thereby wasting ink, I just turn it off after using. If it is off for three weeks or more, it does take about 5 minutes of cycling and cleaning before printing.
Summary: I will try to address some of the issues people have brought up. I am very pleased with my new iP4820, a replacement for my old iP4000. The combination of canon printer, canon inks, and canon paper just cannot be beat for professional looking photos.
Summary: I've now used this printer for a few months and I'm quite happy with it. I bought it to replace an old Epson that I finally would not clean the print heads properly. Considering I had the printer for almost 10 years I can't complain.
Summary: So far, I am very pleased with the Canon iP4820. I have purchased numerous H-P printers over the years and have seen their quality slip with each new generation. My last H-P Photosmart driver software was problematic despite several updates (did not work well with Vista/MS Word); ink costs were very...
Summary: We had a HP PhotoSmart printer for a couple of years. Did not use it that much, but whenever we did it had problems with print quality and fast usage of the ink cartridges. Finally, one of the ink cartridge sensors went out, and after replacing the cartridge for the third time, it leaked ink all...
Summary: Great printer quality is excellent. Cost of ink is really high, when you consider to replace the ink for the cost of a new printer with ink already in it!! Need to look at ink costs, go laser!!
Summary: My fiancée and I bought this printer in order to print our wedding invitations. Our other printer (a black-and-white laser printer) does not have a strong enough paper feed mechanism to print on card stock, so we needed to find something that would work. This Canon model fit the bill perfectly.
