Summary: This is an all-around great printer, but really does a super job at printing photos on glossy photo paper. If your photo file is good and you get decent photo paper; you will not be able to tell the difference between photos printed on this, and those printed at walgreens/walmart/etc.
Summary: Canon PIXMA iP4820 Inkjet Printer. Had a little trouble seting it up, but blame that on me for not reading the instructions first. (As it is said, "If all others fail, read the instructions first!") Got this printer to replace my old Canon iP3500. The print quality is even better than than the old one which was very good. Like the option where you can load paper either in the front or back. Does a nice job printing out envelopes.
Summary: After quite a bit of research I settled on this printer and I am very satisfied. The setup was very easy, just follow the directions. I use it on an imac. The photo quality is amazing and professional looking. It's a nice looking printer that doesn't take up a lot of space. I would highly recommend this printer. I honestly can't think of anything wrong with it, and the price is right!
Summary: Canon PIXMA iP4820 Premium Inkjet Photo Printer (4496B002) Print quality is outstanding, and although it does clean the head often thereby wasting ink, I just turn it off after using. If it is off for three weeks or more, it does take about 5 minutes of cycling and cleaning before printing. A small inconvenience if it saves ink. If it's off a few days, it starts printing in moments. I got it last November, and just recently (late September) replaced the cartridges.
Summary: Wow. This printer is of such a fine quality I was surprised i got it at such an affordable price. I really recommend it For just about any printing needs. We purchased it to print up wedding invites and the came out beautifully. What a find.
Summary: I've now used this printer for a few months and I'm quite happy with it. I bought it to replace an old Epson that I finally would not clean the print heads properly. Considering I had the printer for almost 10 years I can't complain. One of the things I looked for in a new printer was the ability to feed paper from the top. The Canon gives you the option of using either a front feed tray or a top load tray.
Summary: So far, I am very pleased with the Canon iP4820. I have purchased numerous H-P printers over the years and have seen their quality slip with each new generation. My last H-P Photosmart driver software was problematic despite several updates (did not work well with Vista/MS Word); ink costs were very high; the ink took forever to dry; and paper jams became intolerable. It was time to try something new.
Summary: Great printer quality is excellent. Cost of ink is really high, when you consider to replace the ink for the cost of a new printer with ink already in it!! Need to look at ink costs, go laser!!
Summary: My fiancée and I bought this printer in order to print our wedding invitations. Our other printer (a Dell 1110 black-and-white laser printer) does not have a strong enough paper feed mechanism to print on card stock, so we needed to find something that would work. This Canon model fit the bill perfectly. It can print beautiful text and graphics on a variety of paper types and sizes, and at a relatively fast speed.
Summary: Prints very well on photo paper and hi-res paper. there are better printers out there for plain black text, but this printer is FANTASTIC with printing photos. Rivals getting prints at Long's or even ordering them online. Comes with a few sample sheets of Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, 4 x 6 Inches, 100 Sheets (2311B023) .
