Summary: I purchased the ip4600 from amazon.com in July, 2009. It has continually worked great. I can print photos on matte photo paper(my preference) with the regular ink. I always buy Canon Printers because their color is the best and they have longevity.
Summary: An excellent printer unfortunately endowed with the sleaziness common to printer manufacturers and razor makers. Changing the cartridges for no reason that I can see. I had a fairly extensive selection of spare inks which are now of no use as the new cartridges are physically smaller. I will think long and hard whether or not to buy canon again.
Summary: I bought this from Amazon a few months ago and I must say that the photo quality is perfect. My pictures print out better then if I take them to a store to be printed. Very happy with this product.
Summary: This printer was purchased to replace my Epson Stylus C86 which died. I needed something in a hurry and Amazon was offering $20 off and free shipping so I took a chance. Originally, shipping was to be in 7 days. I was delighted when it arrived on my doorstep 48 hours after I placed my order. Easy to set up - use the booklet AND the CD. The booklet offers more info than the CD and clears up some gray areas.
Summary: My old Canon Printer had failed, and I needed a replacement. I did not need an all-in-one printer as I already had a good Canon Scanner. I also did not need a wireless printer as I had just one desktop computer, and did not want to invest the money in a wireless system at this time. For the money, the iP4600 printer turned out to be a great buy. Set-up was very easy, and the printer installed and worked perfectly.
Summary: Just search eBay for the buy that sells the adapters so your printer can print disks. It is cheap & VERY EASY. Also take a look at inkjethelper dot com (you get the idea) Google it if nothing else. They explain everything & are very helpful. My 33, ip4200 & my son's ip4700 or some such have been done & now print disks just fine.
Summary: I must say it has been a long time since I had to buy a printer cause my last one was 7 years old. I hated having to get a new one but I had fried the printer head on my last one and it cost more to get a new head than a new printer. I am prone to Canon products cause it is the brand I use most (at home and at work) and I have never had any problems. This is not coming from any high tech type person.
Summary: This printer does all I need and is quite fast. Photos print fast and clear. Text prints fast. The initial warm up period is a bit long, but bearable and worth it. A great quality value for the price.
