Summary: I bought this printer to assist with my scrapbooking. I have printed a few hundred 8x10 sheets since purchasing this printer a year ago. I have spent well over $300.00 in ink cartridges. I am behind on scrapbooking projects because I have to talk myself into buying more ink so I can print the pages I create. This has never been much of a problem for me with past printers. The cost is truly outrageous!
Summary: I have had several Canon printers in the past (PIXMA iP8500 and i960) and have loved them. The iP4600 prints photos well, but not up to the level of either of my other printers. It prints documents well. The PROBLEM is the paper source. It constantly says the cassette is out of paper when it is not. It sometimes pulls photopaper out of the rear tray when there is plenty of paper in the cassette, wasting photopaper. I am about ready to return it.
Summary: Pluses: Lots of cover plates to keep dust down. Photos print very quickly, quality of photo is excellent. Minuses: Type print quality is substandard, not sharp. With cover plates, you have to remember to unlatch them to get the printer to start printing. Does go through ink pretty quickly. With my Vista computer software, it's very slow to communicate to the printer my request for photo copying.
Summary: I have had very good luck with Canon Pixma printers. This model has been a disappointment. Two things bother me about this printer: 1) paper fed from the bottom tray jams all of the time and 2)it takes forever for the first page to print. The print quality is very good, but it is so very annoying to wait a minute or two for the first page to print.
Summary: Easy setup and good quality printer. Only compaint I have is Canon is selling these printers at a good price but has pretty much gone off the deep end on ink cartridge prices. The new cartridges are smaller than previous models and at this time there are no compatable cartridges available for this printer. $65 for a set of cartridges is ridiculous! Should have bought a previos model with old style cartidges.
Summary: Overall I am satisfied with the printer for both general printing and photos. The printing speed for photos is good. Two sided printing is somewhat slower than I would like. The delay for drying before printing the opposite side seems too long. After a interval of no printing there is too long a delay before the first page prints while some kind of mechanical activity goes on in the printer. I would rate it as a good value purchase.
Summary: First the good points of the IP4600; The photo print quality is excellent. The setup is easy. I am pleased with the operation of the printer. On the down-side; The IP4600 DOES NOT print CDs/DVDs even though several retailers (including Amazon) states that it does. Canon Tech Support seemed very surprised that the feature was given in their specifications.
Dadurch wird zwar u.a.
