Summary: I purchased the Canon iP4200 printer to replace one I used until it quit working. I do a lot of photo printing during the holidays and this printer is a work horse! The photo quality is outstanding! The quality of print on matte paper is the best! I especially like the fact there is a print feed from the top of the printer and a feed from below. This is extremely useful for my printing needs. Also very useful is the duplex print feature.
High Quality; great value, very durable; not cheaply made at all

Summary: This is an excellent printer; the newer printers from Canon, while they do use different ink and might have more features, faster printing and a much lower initial selling price, ultimately do not print photographs with any greater detail; the DPI is identical to this much older model.
The ebay price isn't for the printer, its for some INK!

Summary: The printer is great! CNET's review presentation is thorough; it may or may not be accurate. But the review lists an ebay price for the printer that is a price for ink, not the printer itself.
Pros: Rugged and reliable, this printer produces good-looking output every time.
Cons: The morons at CNET that think they are so cool, producing an up to date price for an out of date printer. Almost as worthless as 'google ads'.
Summary: I am always a loyal Canon customer. The iP4200 doesn't disappoint me. Set up is easy. Canon offers some softwares with the printer. I likes Easy-Photoprint the most. It is easy to use and let you print photos in different formats. The printer has good document and photo printing quality. It is also quiet. The first time I used it, I saw a photo paper went in and I thought the paper was stuck inside for I could hear any printing noise. But I saw no warning light.
These printer have been exceptionally dependable and cheap to run.

Summary: I have a specific reason for using the IP4200 or others with the same design (like the IP3000). I print model airplane plans on tissue paper and the printer has a straight line feed cassette as well as the normal top feed. I currently have 2 IP4200's, upgraded from an IP3000 for the second printer mostly because of the better ink tank design on the 4200.
Summary: its a great printer for everyday use. The ink is inexpensive and the quality excellent. The problem with this printer is, it is not for the occasional user because the printhead clogs after not being used. The printhead is $41 dollars so you savings on the ink is lost. These printers are designed to fail. It counts how many times you have printed.
Summary: The Canon ip4200 is an ink jet color printer with decent speed for printing most documents. I use it to supplement my toner printer when I need color. My printer's printhead failed. The EBAY advertised model had a problem with pages being smeared with ink. Hence, I bought it for less than the cost of a used printhead alone and got almost full ink tanks. In 3 minutes I switched parts and have been up and running for less, with no problems.
Summary: Even thought it's used it works like a charm and it even came with a CD printer tray - bonus. I bought it so that I would have something compatible with my wife's Canon printer - they both use the same type of ink cartridge. I also realized that it will do duplex printing - a surprise. Great machine.
