Summary: I thought this was actually a pretty decent printer. Didn't use it a lot but it was there when I needed it and it's in great shape. HOWEVER - I got a new computer running newer OS (Mac. OSX 10.9) and there are NO available drivers. The printer is not that old to be not supported.
Summary: This was a nice printer at first, fast, good results on plain paper, two-sided. Then, it started losing it's mind over ink cartridges. It would say they yellow one was empty when it wasn't. Eventually we replaced the cartridge, presuming it was just a bum cartridge.
Summary: I've had this printer for quite a few years now. I initially bought it knowing I would use it mainly as a general printer, but wanted the optionality of being able to print photographs on it and have them come out well.
Summary: It's hard to believe this printer is so inexpensive, and if you need a decent printer at a low cost, by all means the ip4200 is excellent. Based on the reviews I was prepared for two things: 1) it could be a lemon, and 2) it would be an ink hog. After 4 months, so far so good on both counts.
Summary: This printer is driving me up the walls. You can buy and install generic ink, but it won't work as it does not have the chips. I tried everything i can find online regarding resetting the printer. Nothing worked.
Summary: The iP4200 is the easiest printer I've owned for changing ink. However, the ink cartridges don't seem to hold much ink and it does seem to go through the ink very quickly. While the cost of this printer was low, Canon "makes up" for that by getting you on the back side (i.e., INK purchases).
Summary: This printer offers reasonably clear, accurate prints that would probably satisfy many users. After a rather involved setup, the first issues became more troubling: - The printout time is, by any standard, fairly slow.
Summary: I needed a printer for printing on DVD's, and wanted something other than HP or Epson (Epson's cartridges are said to show "empty" before they are; and I didn't like the HP reviews). This printer, when sold in Europe is capable of prining on cd's but doesn't have the feature when sold in the US.
Summary: FOR $62.00 SHIPPED TO MY HOME I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER AT THIS TIME. THIS IS A CAPABLE PRINTER FOR MY GENERAL HOME COMPUTER USES. I LIKE THE AUTO SHEET FEEDER OR CASSETTE PAPER OPTIONS. IT PRINTS OUT TEXT VERY FAST AND FULL PAGE PICTURES COME OUT PRETTY FAST TOO.
