Summary: This was actually a pretty good printer while it worked. I use mostly black ink so after replacing it once, bought a double container of black ink (not cheap) and replaced it. Ever since then the light blinks and I get a user error with no way to fix it. I never had such problems with HP printers.
Summary: This is my seoond Canon printer - the price keeps dropping and the quality of the prints keeps improving. The ink utilization is frugal. I have found the 4 ink cartridge system is much easier (and cheaper) for me as a home user than the 7 cartridge printer I had previously. Color quality and saturation on photo paper or normal printer paper is easily controled via the print driver software preferences.
Summary: I had very positive results with this printer, until it just gave up the ghost one day. I used it on my mac for about two years. I certainly didn't abuse it or use it heavily. One day it just stopped responding -- I couldn't even turn it on. Now its going to our local electronics recycling station. For the price I paid, I expected more.
Summary: Mac Users: good news if you've had a problem with accessing functions such as cancelling a printing job after installing Mountain Lion. Those problems completely went away after I upgraded to Mavericks, and all functions were restored. I did buy a new printer, though, because I wanted better quality of photo printing; however, now I will keep this one, at least until my huge supply of ink runs out.
Summary: I realize the other reviews may be more helpful for those looking for actual descriptions of the printer's abilities, but I wanted to take a moment to warn those who may be interested about one particular problem. As someone mentioned, the ink cartridges have chips used to identify them. While this may seem like just an harmless way to ensure Canon ink cartridges are used, it turned into a larger problem for me.
Summary: This review is in the context of a Mac System. I replace an aging Epson Stylus Color ink-jet printer with this purchase. I was tired of replacing a a three color ink cartridge, and picked the Canon iP3300 in part on the separate ink cartridge approach that this printer uses. We use this as the main general purpose printer for our home computer. I am very pleased with the results. Image quality is excellent. The print looks laser printer quality in sharpness.
Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02) A good product

Summary: Canon color is the most accurate color I have seen in any printer. I like the fact that each of the four cartridges will only cost $11.00. Compared to my older LEXMARK which tried to make all of their money in ink sales, canon ink is reasonable. The software for the Canon PIXMA iP3300 Inkjet Printer (1437B02)is very good and installs very quickly for WIN XP.
Summary: This printer's speed, text and graphics are all excellent. I print about 50 pages a day and it always operates trouble-free. I am only giving it four stars, not five, for one reason: it is no longer possible to replace the original Canon ink cartridges with cheaper compatible ink cartridges because the originals now come with a chip.
