I hardly ever had problems with it and it printed great quality photos
16 September 2015
Summary: I bought this printer, used, in 2011 to do edible images for cakes at my business. I used it at least 2-3 times a week since. It is 2015 now and it finally bit the dust a couple weeks ago. I am very impressed at the length of time I was able to use it.
Summary: I am replacing a Canon i 560 which is a very good machine and still running. The iP3000 has the 4 ink tanks and separate print head that makes good copies cheaply, like the i560. The Pixma runs about the same speed as the old i560 but the print quality is better, sharper.
Summary: With the luck I'd had with this one, I figured that I could not go wrong by going back to Canon for another printer. What they are producing today does not stand up well with user reviews. That's a shame. I loved this product.
Pros: This thing has lasted NINE (9) YEARS!!! It was purchased as an inexpensive, temporary printer so I could replace my high quality printer that had started to act up. Instead, I was so pleased with this printer that I have used it as my primary printer all this time. The price was in the mid-$60 ra...
Cons: Ink has been a little pricey. I've stayed with Canon OEM inks. It's a little slow to start up or wake up. The darned thing is dying on me after nine years!!!
Summary: Wow! I just looked up my order for this printer and was surprised to see I've had it since October 2004! True, I use it intermittently, but still! I have printed greeting cards, photos, homework assignments, crafts, letters, and who knows what else over the years.
Summary: I LOVE this printer. I mean that I really LOVE this printer. I wish it had a scanner, but its replacement version (which does) requires ink tanks with chips that expire - even before the ink is gone. This printer lets me buy non-OEM ink at greatly discounted prices on e-bay.
Summary: I replaced my old HP printer with this one. The main reason I bought this printer was because the ink cartridges were much cheaper to replace than the HP. I am very satisfied with this printers performance.
Summary: Color photos come out with different color. They look like with more contrast. I wish the auto feeder could support at least 2 types of input such as photo papers and letter size papers. It prints very good jobs except for the photos.
By Far The Best, The Most Reliable, The Most Cost Effective Printer I've Ever Had!

Summary: I have had about 6 printers before this one. This is the only printer I've had that is easily refilled, no hiccups, fuss, error messages. In addition, the printer has the quiet mode option, which significantly reduces printing noise -- comparable to laser printers.
Great printer but getting expensive to buy on eBay

Summary: I bought one of these for my daughter's homework needs as well as for the CD printing ability. Delighted with the purchase. The US printers will not print to CD as default, you need to do a quick Google search to learn how to do it.
