Summary: Bought this to replace an old Canon PIXMA IP1600, they use the same ink cartridges and I was having problems constantly with the IP1600. Upon arrival of the 'new' printer, it seemed to work ok, but then I ran into the same problem of an error every time I attempted to print. Turned out to be a software issue that took quite a while to rectify. After working that out, this printer has been working just fine.
Summary: This was a gift. I was looking for a printer for my sister. She needed something that would be easy on cartridge refills. I picked this one because of the price and it should do everything she needs it for. So far so good.
Cons: The unusually profound sound effects (easily duplicated by lifting one end of your keyboard 1-2 inches off the desk and letting it free fall back down 3-4 times). This sequencing occurs at the beginning and sometimes, end, of each print job!

His business is Managed Service for Telecommunication Industry, so he has to buy printer which can produce good photo printing quality but still can use for document printing also. Because he and his subordinates don't have ability to install and set the printer for their purpose, I helped him to install and set the printer for the first time. So, this is my conclusion for this ...
Pros: good printing quality
Cons: high resolution photo printing speed is so slow
