Not as great as they say, but still very good

  • Summary: I will start by saying I buy cheap ink for my printer. And I will follow that by saying HOLY COW can you get some SUPER CHEAP INK for this printer!!! (generic, of course). The photos that print look good and I don't mind the quality, but they certainly aren't comparable to real photos from a lab. But it works for what I need it to, it prints normal text really quick, and I couldn't be happier (mostly b/c the ink is soooooo cheap!

  • Excerpt: I purchased the Canon Pixma IP2000 printer 8 months ago when my old Canon printer expired. As a moderate home user, printing about 50 - 100 A4 pages per month and some 5 - 10 colour photographs, I was looking for a printer that gave good quality printing at a budget price with inexpensive replacement cartridges. After some online research I ordered the printer from Pixmania.com for £50 and the printer duly arrived 3 days later.
  • Pros: Price, good quality printing, cheap cartidges
  • Cons: None

  • Excerpt: When i came back to university in september to begin the second year of my 4 year course i decided (quite appropiately) to leave my money wasting Lexmark printer at home. I wanted a printer that gave good quality, had reasonably priced cartridges for the ink they contained and was affordable. My uncle suggested i got a printer where you only replaced the ink tanks and not the jets each time you needed a new cartridge.
  • Pros: Great priced cartridges, superb photo quality and draft quality
  • Cons: Not as compact as some printers

  • Excerpt: I have recently come to university with my laptop, then realised that I might need to print my work, so I went to have a look around PCWorld, Comet, Curry's and Argos. This printer wasn't the cheapest at £49.99, but if you look at the price of cartridges (around £5 for black and £9 for colour) then they are cheaper than the cartridges for the cheaper printers (eg. Lexmark). So in the long run you are saving.
  • Pros: Cheap, small, fairly priced cartridges
  • Cons: Have to buy USB lead separate

Super snaps in seconds

  • Excerpt: For me Canon always means top class products (even though I've just bought an Olympus camera) and I am not disappointed with this printer. Its high speed quality printing - 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution, 20ppm black and 14ppm colour - is excellent and 4" x 6" borderless prints in 50 seconds is very good too. It also has FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering)technology. Cartridges (separate black and colour) are cheap compared to some and are easily changed.
  • Pros: Fast printing and reasonably priced cartridges
  • Cons: None at the moment

  • Excerpt: I deliberated long and hard over which printer to buy as the cost of the replacement cartridges is such a major factor. i didn't need a fancy printer, just one that could print out family snapshots and cope with the demands of two young children wanting to print out every piece of art work they do!! The Canon Pixma IP2000 meets all our needs and gives great quality too. It comes with a sample pack of photo paper which I used and the picture quality was second to none.
  • Pros: Fast, quiet and great results
  • Cons: None

  • Excerpt: Canon IP2000 Being a student I guess that I rely on a printer for printing assignments and web pages. After my Epson printer (see my other review) breaking down, and it not having a warranty, I needed to get a new printer. The main focus point I was looking for in printers whilst I was shopping was the price of the actual printer, and the ink cartridges. I spoke to a few friends and they all have canon printers, and they all recommended canon printers.
  • Pros: Fast, Cheap, Looks great .
  • Cons: Ink cartridges can be a little small .

  • Excerpt: My printer had just given up on me and I had to get a new one. After going to a few stores and checking out their selection, I decided on this model, and I’m glad I did. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this printer. I printed some 4X6 pictures just to test it out and they came out quite good! They did come a little grainy, but I mean, for how cheap it was, I was impressed. The ink for this printer is extremely cheap.
