Summary: THROW IT IN THE GARBAGE, I just get the urge to be informitive when something fails me. This printer worked a little while then quit working all together. Probally along the lines of the feeder review I just read. I would'nt salvage one for ten dollars unless you want a stupid look on your face when a new printer don't work. Maybe ten dollars would be worth it but you get the point. I agree, where is the consumer protection against failing products.
Summary: I was given this printer by a friend when he got a new one with more functions. This printer is just a printer, not a scanner or anything else but it is small enough to fit on my desk without overwhelming me and prints nice, clear copies. It's been functioning flawlessly for several years. It's been the most reliable printer I've used in a long time.
Summary: My old PIXMA broke and I got the same printer again because I knew that the prints would be great. The colors are bright, the details are sharp and the authentic Pixma cartridges last a long time.
Summary: I am on my 3rd Canon printer. The latest one I purchased 6 months ago and the rollers have stopped working. Before this one the light constantly flashed and would not print. Before that a horrendous clunking noise and then nothing. I will never purchase another piece of crap Canon again. They may have good cameras and that I would not even try because of their lousy printers.
Summary: My old printer quit so I looked for one, that the ink was the lest costiy. I found the 1800 on sale, and the ink was cheap. It came with set-up disk, real easy set up. To my surprise it is about 5 times faster than my old printer. I get great pictures and text.
Summary: Ive Used Mine for about 3 years now. Thing works fine, although it is starting to act up due to age, and the fact of use. I Bought it just to print labels for ebay, when i sold an item. ive had to replace the ink about 8 times in 3 years. But thats for maybe 10 items-20 items sold per month. Not that great for pictures, but fine for documents, and papers. does need to be aligned every time ink s replaced. cleaning performed during ink replacement is a great idea as well.
