Summary: The printer works beautifully. The only drawbacks with this model are that it has 6 ink tanks instead of 12 and you cannot customize paper settings automatically. This sounds worse than it is, though. You can still find a similar, preloaded paper style and just use that.

Excerpt: The canon ipf6400 was purchased 10 days ago, it has yet to work. Canon has been out 5 times including the Canon specialist to no avail. Their approach is to just throw parts at it and hope sonething sticks.. I have asked, begged and pleaded to come and replace it since it has never worked.

I was planning to buy a 24" or 44" Epson until I read the large Epson had a history of clogging up the printhead and being very expensive to repair, so I bought the Canon instead.

Excerpt: The printer is very new to me; only printed on Canon Glossy Photo Paper so far. The prints are accurate with great detail in deep shadows as well as highlights. Very easy to unpack/set-up although two or three people make the job easier than doing it myself.
Pros: 12 Ink System, Durable construction, Easy To Set Up, Fast Print Time, Low Ink Consumption, REPLACEABLE PRINT HEADS
