Excerpt: I bought this printer in May 2014 and have nothing but compliments on the work I've done with it. Amazingly it does banners that hold up outdoors and is capable of printing on dozens of substrates.
Summary: This is a big, heavy professional printer. My Canon IPF605 came by truck and two people carried it inside for me. It arrived in perfect condition. Pros: Solid, heavy duty feel. Large 130ml Ink tanks, less expensive ink costs than HP. Higher resolution than comparably priced competition and uses less ink than most. The Print Head is professional quality and can reproduce 2400x1200 dpi. All in all, the IPF605 is more economical to operate than an HP.
Summary: This below average rating comes from loving the printer for 2 years (5 stars) minus all the headaches and expense (-4 stars)incurred lately from replacement parts, plus 1 star of hope from the Wiki Community. Briefly, the yellow ink tank was low but I wasn't concerned because I only needed to print in black. Deadline looming, the yellow ran out, printer on strike; no yellow, no print. Ordered replacement ink and installed it.
Summary: This Canon worked great for a little over a year, now it is stuck on a print head error. I have installed 2 new print heads, 2 new maintenance cartridges and all new ink cartridges and it is still stuck on print head error. Have had a local company here 3 times and no one can fix this problem. Also had Canon support work on this and they can't fix it. I guess it trash and time for a new printer.
Summary: This printer is fast, easy to set up, gives fantastic color prints and fine line engravings. In addition, the printer is a work horse for D sized architectural drawings, 24x36 inches. I was looking at the HP510 wide format printer, then I saw the reviews of this one against the HP... no contest... a real honey. [...] Love this thing!
