Conclusion: I noted that another reviewer said it would not work with his MAC. This was not my experience at all. I downloaded the drivers and it was all plug and play. I use an early 2008 MacBook. This has been a good printer. Inexpensive black and white printing. Just what I needed.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, easy to use
Conclusion: I purchased this printer online for a great value and I didn't have to change the toner (that came with it) for a year!!! I have a small business and I print without thinking about the cost much but after 6 months I started thinking about when was I going need to replace the toner. I pondered about it a while and then I remembered the story of the poor women in the Bible who offered kindness to a man of God.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Small Footprint, High Quality Output, fast print speed, easy to use
Summary: First, the cons: It's loud and it's clunky. The Pros: It's fast for what it is, It set up easily. It fits perfectly with my Canon scanner. Short warm up time. Started cartridge gives about 700 pages. .Replacement cartridges can be purchased at a reasonable price. Small footprint. Pages are crisp and clear.Dashboard gives a good variety of options.
prints with paper tray closed, very useful feature
2 November 2013
Summary: PROS: compact size, affordable price, fast printout, dust 'proof'. CONS: new drum and toner combo is $60. I love the small size. I thought that paper tray has to be open while printing and closed when not used. But then I discovered a 'hidden' feature. If the paper length adjuster is pushed in halfway then the front lid can be closed completely. This puts an end to dust settling on the papers while not printing. Printing is possible with lid closed.
Summary: I hated wasting all of the printer ink just on coupons, and this does the trick nicely. I have printed about 100 pages so far and the ink still looks like the first day I used it. The papers shoot out fast, the printer itself doesn't take up a lot of room, and overall I'm extremely happy. You'll need to buy a cable ( I bought this - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MSZBNA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to hook it from the printer to your laptop/computer.
Summary: I had a Canon color inkjet printer for many years. Recently, it stopped printing black (not a minor inconvenience). I sent an email to Canon customer service and received a detailed response the next day outlining a step-by-step process to diagnose and fix the problem. Of course, this being me, even their step-by-step instructions were too much for me. In their email Canon handily provided a toll free number for technical assistance.
