Summary: This is one of the worst pieces of junk I have ever purchased. I've had it a few years and it never has worked right. The paper feeder carriage never quite fit in to the main printer and if you don't have it just right, it stops printing. Don't, I repeat DO NOT even consider this POS. Buy something else!
Summary: Of course, yo can get prints cheaper at the local drug store but it's nice to print photos of people on the spot at parties or social events. The thermal printers, such as the Canon CP series, means that there is no problem of clogged ink jets if you don't print things very often. It's a fun thing which goes well with my digital camera. This Canon printer produces clear and permanent prints of the best quality.
Summary: This compact Canon printer is wonderful for home or travel use. One can print photos using the dye-sublimation ribbon and special paper to enjoy long lasting almost water-proof prints. The colors come out sharp , vibrant, and detailed. Yes, the prints are only 4 x 6 but when printed on the post card stock will provide easy to use and send post cards for friends and family.
Summary: I received this printer as a gift. I thought it was a great idea to be able to take the printer to family functions, take a picture, and give it to the family right away! I only had the printer two years, with little use and many problems. The paper that is supplied with the ink kit began to jam. This became an expensive ordeal, considering I could simply take the digital images to a local store and have them printed for as low as 17 cents a copy.
Summary: This printer was a gift for my high school graduation. I got a digital camera too to go with it. It was nice because I could print pictures without a computer. The quality was pretty good and the pictures came out relatively fast. It was really small too, so I was able to put it in a drawer when I wasn't using it. I would've been able to say more, but my relationship with this printer was short-lived.
Summary: This is a good quality printer with 2 major restrictions. First, the printer, printer paper & cartridge packs, and additional paper trays for labels and such are expensive. Second, the largest it prints is 4"x6". SETTING UP A number of earlier reviewers commented on how difficult it was to print from the computer. Expect setup to take about an hour if everything goes right.
Summary: For me (Windows XP Home edition), everything worked perfectly out of the box. Within 15 min of opening the box, I had pictures that easily beat the 1 hour photo machines in both detail and color. (I have a 6mp DSLR.) I used an SD card reader to transfer files from the camera to the computer, then used the Microsoft print wizard in MS Photo Manager to quickly size and send the print. This is a great tool to have for getting beautiful snapshots quickly.
