Summary: I just like it. I wish canon would dump half the things they now make and go back to this one. For those that just want to print, i850 can not be beat. Company executives misguidedly think public wants a printer that will do everything and only print photos. They subscribe to heard mentallity and thinking. If HP and Lexus is doing it them we got to do it!! Typical corporate no risk taking thinking. It is wrong thinking! As long as I can get a used i850.
Summary: I like Canon printers. My favorite Canon was an i550. It was a workhorse which "sipped" ink from its 4 cartridges. I print a great many color photos, and the quality of the color printing was very good. Eventually, it had a very common difficulty, a clogged printhead, and no solution I tried was able to fix the problem. So I bought another Canon, an MP240, which is a printer, copier and scanner, mainly because I couldn't find a simple, printer-only Canon.
Summary: I bought this Canon i850 inkjet printer to replace one that I have had for several years. The other printer quit working, so I took it to a repair place and after a month they said they couldn't get the parts to fix it. I decided to see if Ebay had any for sale and got a great deal on a replacement printer. The Canon i850 is my favorite because it uses four ink tanks and if you run out of one color you just replace that ink tank.
Summary: I love this printer! It has 4 ink tanks which are easily refillable. I ordered this printer because I wore out my old one! (2 years - constant printing from 2 computers!) I especially like it because it can be hooked up to 2 computers - one usb and the other parallel. It will listen to whichever one you tell to print! Great printing of pictures, even on plain paper. It's a keeper!
Summary: The Canon i850 is a great printer, it combines speed with quality prints. One of it's best features is seperate tanks for each color ink. If you run out of yellow you replace only the yellow cartidge and not all of them. The black tank is larger for regular printing.
Summary: What a plesant surprise. Since the asking price was 1/3 of a brand new one, I was skeptical that I will actually receive a 100% functiong printer. When I opened the box - there was a printer cable included, fresh supply of new 4 catridges and a CDRom of driver/software(burnt from original Canon program). I bought brand new Canon printers before and cables were never included. Have really nothing to complain about.
Summary: I've used only Canon inkjet printers for several years, after trying all the others. I like the speed, the four-tank system, the simple setup, the longevity. The i850 is the best of its generation (dye inks), producing excellent color photos, comparable to what I get from my Canon S9000 (a six-ink large-format printer of the same generation).
