Summary: Ok, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that I bought this printer back in 2004. It was a lower-mid-range printer at the time If I recall - not the cheapest on the market, but not up among the most expensive either. I bought it because I'd had good experiences with canon printers in the past, because the price was right, because it had 4 ink containers instead of just 1 (meaning 1 could run out and be replaced, without having to replace all of them, and the...
Summary: This is my all time favorite printer. It was also my fastest. I have not purchased a printer in the past two years since mine died. I wish they would bring it back! I had no problems with it until an 1 inch action figure fell into it while it was printing. Otherwise, it is well missed.
Summary: I love this printer. It is a fine one. The ink tanks are easy to refill, no setting chip, so the ink cartridge is very cheap and easy to find on Ebay. You will save a lot of money. It is fast with black and wite prits.
Summary: I purchased this printer back in Oct. 2003 and it still works well 8 years later. As long as you clean the print head regularly, this should last a long time. The ink also lasts for quite a while as long as you are not strictly printing photos. The print quality of photos as well as documents are great. The printer does make a bit of noise when starting up but it's barely noticable.
Summary: The Canon i560 is a fine printer. It is fairly fast, its ink tanks are easy to refill, with no setting chip, and it has parallel and USB connectivity. It has dust covers both for the paper feed and paper exit, although you must remember to open the exit door or you will get a jam. Of course it can be left open, and it serves as a paper catching tray.
Summary: I bought this printer because it is very similar in features and operation to my old Canon i550 which recently gave out on me. It also uses the same ink cartridges, which I have a bunch of, and they are cheap to replace. These printers are solid workhorses and economical to operate for routine printing. I have a newer Canon Multipass that I use for photo work. One problem with these older printers is that the print heads eventually quit working.
Summary: Do yourself a favor shop else where!!! Save yourself some time and money. Thge printer I was sold didn't work and still dosent work.... Got one over on me, don't let them do the same to you......
Summary: The Canon i560 is a great printer because it uses individual ink tanks for each color (Black, Yellow, Magenta, and Cyan). This allows the user to replace the appropriate color ink tank as the ink is used up. The printhead of this printer is separate from the ink tanks. Therefore, if you do choose the use compatible ink, there is a potential to clog the print head which may be difficult to clean and a new printer or printhead may be required.
Summary: I've had this reliable printer since 2003, more than seven years as of this writing. It's my basic workhorse printer. I would guess they don't make it any more, but I've been very happy with my switch from HP printers. I have a newer Canon multi-function that I'm happy with too.
