Excellent Color Laser

Glenn Wood, Amazon
2 June 2014
  • Summary: I replaced a BW Laser printer with this Color Laser. I use this mainly for printing documents, presentations, reports, etc. both BW and Color. I wasn't looking for a picture printer but pictures embedded in reports come out ok. Overall, very happy with the printer and the price I paid. No troubles after a little over a year of regular use.

I paid $200 brand new on Ebay with free shipping for HL-3140CW. I love it.

bid-da-bing, Ebay
3 April 2014
  • Summary: I never bought this model Brother printer. Used item sale was cancelled. I bought the HL-3140CW new instead. I love it. I strongly recommend a Brother laser toner printer over any inkjet printer.

Great printer....must read for Brother printer owners

Andy, Amazon
30 March 2014
  • Summary: This is an excellent printer. I am on Amazon.com right now buying another to replace a unit 2+ years old. Extremely reliable and above average print quality. I wanted to make a comment and let everyone in on a secret. These toners will last longer if you reset them. When your printer stops and it says change the toner...don't do it. I make my toner last weeks longer and my office is a very heavy user. Follow these steps: 1. Clear any print jobs in the print queue.

Very pleased so far

Di, a heavy printer user, Staples
6 March 2014
  • Excerpt: I've had this printer for about two weeks and absolutely love it. No problems to date. Easy to install and set up wirelessly. So far, it has stayed on the network. A great feature is the ability to set it on monochrome so if you do a lot of black printing only, you are not blowing through the color cartridges (which will be used even if your document is just text unless you set it to monochrome). Printing envelopes is about the same effort as with other printers.
  • Pros: Durable Construction, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time, Low toner consumption, Reliable, Sharp tones & colors

Great Printer

T. I. M., Amazon
26 January 2014
  • Summary: It's big and a bit on the heavy side. But its a great price and does exactly what I want it to do. I've never had network issues like I've had with other network printers. The cartridges are easy to exchange out and the printer tells you when you need to order a replacement cartridge before running out of toner. I've had this printer now for over a year. The start up cartridges gave me lots of life. The unit does well on envelopes and card stock.

Easiest color laser to refill the cartridges on! By far the cheapest to own over time!!!!

Tracy D. Hakimi, Amazon
3 November 2013
  • Summary: Great bang for the buck. Brother toner cartridges are by far the easiest to re-fill with powder, because they have an easily accessible re-fill plug on the side... unlike HP, Canon. etc, that have sealed cartridges and embedded microchips to discourage refilling. For about $70 on Ebay, you can buyer a five color toner kit and re-fill these on the cheap, which will literally save you thousands of dollars over the life of the printer, compared to buying new cartridges at...

Pretty-darn good duplexing color laser printer!

Pulpit Pounding Political Pundit "Peppy", Amazon
26 October 2013
  • Summary: However if you use non-Brother toner cartridges or to get all the pages out of your toners that you paid for, you will need to find out about the trick to resetting the page counters for each cartridge. Here it is: Open the front cover that exposes the toner cartridges. The "Cover Open" message appears on the printer. Press the "Cancel" and "Secure" buttons at the same time. You will now see the secret toner counter reset menu.

Great toy!

John A. Parons, Amazon
17 April 2013
  • Summary: After the hassles keeping inkjet printers going, this has become, far and away, the greatest fun toy I have ever had. I have gone through one set (all 4 colors) of toner cartridges, so I have an idea how expensive this printer is to work with. It is far more economical than the inkjet, has taken almost no fussing to keep it going and has so many time saving features it is unbelievable.
