Everything works well ...

Rinkydink, Staples
26 December 2013
  • Summary: Everything works well with several gliches - 1) disconnects due to poorly designed plug on back, 2) on/off switch poorly positioned on side where it is difficult to find & 3) the replacement ink cartridges are disproportionately expensive and they do not last anywhere near as long as the original...

problematic for wireless use

stews, Staples
26 September 2013
  • Summary: I have a home network. In the past I have had HP Printer/Scanner/Fax machines and I wanted better printing costs. I researched every product available and took a long time deciding. I read every opinion. I bought the Brother HL-4570CDW.

sorry brother-it's back to hp for me!

dp, Staples
24 June 2013
  • Summary: I truly dislike this printer-we really don't get along. Do not think this printer is designed for even a small business-which we are not! My Staples representative recommended this to me. Will not print more than 10 checks in the feeder-don't put 11 as it will pull 2 and the rest are out of number.

Not so sure I made the best choice yet.

APAKevin, Staples
19 January 2013
  • Summary: Print and color quality is fine . That and speed are similer to my old HP. The MP tray seams a little finiky about how much paper is put in and my biggest concern is how fast the original toner lasted.

Disappointed with Brother Support

Mo-Kan Fence Rider, Amazon
1 October 2012
  • Summary: This review is geared towards the customer service one buys when purchasing a new product. As for the purchased HL-4540 CDW printer we bought less than 7 days ago, simply stated, it never worked out of the box. It received the 'Print Unable 36' error and would never recover.

It goes through cartridges like nothing, it really is nothing short of staggering

Rocket Attachment Socket, Amazon
17 February 2012
  • Summary: This printer is an absolute racket. It goes through cartridges like nothing, it really is nothing short of staggering. Once any of the colors run out, you can't print in black. I don't print photos or anything color rich, just basic document here and there and I've had inkjet printers where the ink...

Wastes toner, wastes money

C. Tran, Amazon
17 February 2012
  • Summary: We used this printer for at least 5 years and we had kind of a love/hate relationship with it. On the one hand, it never broke down. That is really great. When a printer part comes to the end of its life, the printer will tell you to replace it. This is about the only good thing about this printer.

Not what I was hoping for...

KevvyKev, Amazon
17 February 2012
  • Summary: I have a Brother multi-function inkjet printer, and it is a great office printer. This laser printer is a completely different story. When printing multiple color copies, just for example, 10 copies, about 6 or 7 are usable. The others have missing lines of color.

Supplies are too expensive to recommend this printer

MDS in Arlington, TX, Amazon
17 February 2012
  • Summary: Print quality is adequate, but the cost of supplies for this printer is very high. Four toner cartridges (three color plus B&W) is well over $300. Of course that's the case for many/most printers, but when you're getting only ~3.5-4k pages per set of cartridges, that's rather expensive.

it went right back.

LA Shopper, Amazon
11 December 2011
  • Summary: Print quality was piss poor, it went right back for a full refund. Brother in general isn't something to lean on for high quality print. We ended up purchasing a xerox machine (6280DN) instead which performed significantly better.
