Excerpt: This is a ood solid printer. It lasted about 20 months in a hard working office environment. Plastic grear in the paper hadling and transit section failed. But it was a good sale and we simply bought 2 more at excellent Staples savings coupled with a rebate for recycling old printers. I hope it lasts as long as the firs did and we will be happy. But I bought a back up due to the good pricing.
Excerpt: I like the machine. It does exactly what I bought it for. I spent an hour or more following the instructions (which were challenging) to connect the printer to our three computers, but was not successful. Fortunately, a friend was willing to come and help to complete the job. I think the instructions need to be more simple and clear.
Pros: Compact Design, Fast Print Time, Sharp detail
Good price and printing quality, bad setup (solution for "no Airprint printers found")

Summary: The printer prints well. If you can get through the terrible setup instructions, and figure out some tcp/ip magic. If you buy it and set it up to work wirelessly, here is what I learned. First, don't follow the instructions in the "Quick Start Guide". They're not quick and you won't get started. Instead, take the provided CD (how quaintly twentieth century), put it in a computer (if you still have one of those around) and follow the instructions.
Summary: In general this printer has served me well over the past few months. This is my 3rd brother printer. Only problem I've had is the printer falls into DEEP sleep and needs to be powered down and on to restart printing.
Excerpt: I was lookling for a wireless printer as we have two lap top computers at home one with a windows 7 operating system and a Mac Book and a desk top with a XP operating system. I was not able to install the software without the help of Brother tech support. I was able to get the desk top loaded as I was going to use a USB cable connection the first night.
Excerpt: Can't really tell how fast or well this printer works, because I've been trying to get it to work wirelessly. I actually printed one page successfully, but then it went offline again. After carefully following the Quick Setup Guide instructions several times, I called Support. Come to find out that if the printer loses power for any reason (power outage, surge, moving it around), it loses its ip address and you have to set it up all over again.
Excerpt: This is a good printer for general use. Text output has hazy quality. Graphics are handled well, but not recommended if high quality is needed. Instructions were vague and needed a "walk-through" from technician to set-up remote printing.
