Summary: I have two big problems with this printer: 1. Even though this product advertises "Google Cloud Print" compatibility, this device is not "Google Cloud Print Approved" by Google. Additionally, the GCP feature does not work for myself and many other users (attempts to enable the feature results in a...

Summary: I bought this printer to replace an 8-year old Brother HL-5150D. I got great service from my old laser printer, but it finally croaked so I replaced it with this new, similar model. Rec'd the printer quickly, hooked it up, and printed a test page. Really fast, but also loud.

Summary: In the past, I have had great success with using Brother machines with third party print cartridges. However, I recently purchased a new HL-5450DN machine and Brother may have changed its policy regarding compatibility with third party print cartridges.

Summary: First things first: you have to wire this printer into your network (attach it to a network router with a cable) before it will join the network and be findable by your mobile devices (iPhone, iPad etc). And not just any cable -- it has to be a Category 5 ethernet cable, NOT a USB cable.
Summary: every time the computer was rebooted it would spit out 7 pages with garbage on them immediately at boot up. after spending numerous hours on the phone with worthless tech support and having done firmware updates, downloaded new drivers, and excorcising the demons i finally gave up on using through...
Summary: Spent 30 minutes carefully setting up my new printer, reading all instructions, etc. Upon power-up the printer blew out my breaker turning off power in my office. After I got the power back on I found that my relatively new Belkin uninterruptible power supply (UPS) was no longer operational.
Summary: I bought this as a printer for our winter condo. My CD drive is broken in the condo computer. So, I was unable to install the printer, which can be installed only by CD. Very disappointed. Will take it to my regular home and hook it up to my other computer there because sending it back is a hassle.
Excerpt: It was easy to set up, which is a plus. Prints fast. Copy quality is poor; not sharp. You have to be careful what type of paper you use. I used some laser labels and the ink rubbed off. Not only is copy quality poor, something seems off with the roll/drum because I get smudges on the paper.
Summary: Just like some of the other reviewers, my printer triggers the AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) breaker in my home. The AFCI is designed to detect low-current sparks or shorts which can cause fires. I don't know what the printer is doing to trigger this, but it is 100% reproducible.
