Summary: Like the other reviews you have, above, this line of printers wrinkles paper. The trouble shooting is of no help. Using the two-blue tabs at the back of the printer and flipping them can be of temporary assistance. Beyond that, the Brother line of printers appears to have a defect that they just cannot correct. Brother: There is a bug in the printer. There is also a bug in the process by which people are able to register these defects.
Summary: The printer is lacking network ports & other important features. Price looks great until you open the box & see everything it is missing. The company I ordered from has not called me back to exchange "Global Express' Does not have an operator or a live person you can talk too. Bad Deal!
Summary: Had this printer for under a month - it creases paper and now the drum unit creates spots on the printed paper. have used the recommended paper. Should have bought the HP printer but instead bought the cheaper of the two. Now I am sitting with a useless printer. NOT recommended!
Summary: I've owned Brother printers in the past. I bought this as an upgrade. Unfortunately it creases paper randomly and regularly. I can't use it for anything but personal printing (where I can overlook the creases) unless I print multiple pages and use the ones that aren't creased. Wastes a lot of ink and paper. If you're in the market for a printer, look elsewhere.
Summary: An earlier Brother laser printer that I had (HL-1440) did not exhibit any problems, so I bought this one which is significantly faster. Like others, I have had problems with this printer. Specifically: * When I first used it, it would only accept a small number of pages before it would make a clicking sound and refuse to print. This problem can be corrected by adjusting the plastic tabs at the rear of the paper tray.
Summary: This is my second Brother HL-5240, the first started screaming when I tried to print and then just stopped. Not working at all, I called a local repair shop who took it back, replaced the drum, and about every other working part, and it still was the same, screaming. They said I had to call for a replacement myself, which I did, and then they proceeded to make me go through a bunch of diagnostics which was a waste since the repair place already had done all that, plus so...
Summary: Printer is fine when it works...have now had 3 occasions where the paper light comes on...troubleshooting says to open all doors, etc & remove paper...well, there's no paper to be found. Can't get light to go off... I would NOT buy this printer!
