Summary: The purchase of this machine was a total disaster. The Brother 4070 CDW is one of the best printers ever, but when this one arrived, it was poorly package, had a cracked corner on it and the toners were jammed against the top of the machine. A small plastic part was also broken off. Do not order from this man he does not know how to pack a delicate printer of this kind.
Summary: As noted elsewhere here in the reviews (especially in the ONE STAR reviews) after using for two years and ONLY 2600 Color copies, I get the message to replace the toner cartridges. Note that they are printing just fine. The real problem is that YOU CAN NOT PRINT with this message showing. Here are the steps to take to get back to printing. // /////////////////////////////////////////////// HL-4070 CDW TONER CARTRIDGE EMPTY PROBLEM Turn Power On.
Summary: This printer has great features. I choose this printer over HP CP2025dn because this Brother printer comes with wireless network and the cost of toner cartridges is relative lower. Both printers print duplex and come with drivers for PC and Mac, which is nice. The wireless network set up was not smooth in my case. I was stuck in the wireless network set up process for several hours.
Summary: First of all, I want to start by talking about some of the negative reviews written about this product: Granted, I have only had the printer for a few days but I have had experience with other laser printers and so I feel from the print tests I have performed thus far, I am qualified to share my thoughts. To the person or people that complained about the page curling...what planet are you people from? I don't see any issue with the pages curling.
Summary: Purchased this printer on Sept 1, 2008 as a family printer to attach to my Local (home) network. It will connect wirelessly, but I connected it via ethernet. It was easy to setup and comes with a disk that you can run on the home PCs to enable you to find the printer. No problems in setup. Print quality is very nice. For photos, you are obviously better off with an inkjet, but for presentations, this is great. Printing is very fast.
Summary: I can highly recommend this color printer. I have had it a little over a month. It is set up wirelessly. I have four computers in the house (2 PC and 2 MAC's). All are able to print seamlessly. The colors are a bit muted. They are no where near as vibrant as they show on my monitor. However, there are some color correction settings that I'd like to play with on the printer itself in addition to color setting inside the programs like PhotoShop.
Summary: I installed this printer wirelessly for my Dad. No set up problems at all and using 'WPA2 AES' for security over WiFi. Works well with Mac OS X. Since I have a HP 2605DN, I can compare. The Brother is constructed much better whereas the HP seems a bit fragile. The Brother warms up much quicker and, hence, seems to have much better print speed. The LED display is much more informative and can be adjusted for viewing.
Summary: I was leary about purchasing this printer because of some of the reviews I read but decided to buy it none the less. I am very pleased with the printer; I had some difficulty setting up the wireless connection but the service representatives at Brother were great! I have called them three times for 3 different issues concerning the wireless settings and each time they were more than happy to help.
Summary: No more hard wire (USB) for printing. My home is set up for wireless, and both my DELL PC (Windows XP) and APPLE Laptop can print remotely to this printer with no problems. In that regard, my Wife's new DELL PC with Vista is not supported yet (i.e. no patch available for Brother HL series) to allow wireless printing to the new Brother HL-4070cdw (reason for not giving a 5 star rating).
Summary: This printer is fairly compact, fast, very energy efficient, silent in sleep mode and produces excellent printed pages. It supports duplex printing which is difficult to find in printers at this price range. It is easy to install/set-up and works well in wireless mode. My only nit is that it is loud while printing. It comes with a parallel port which is really unnecessary and useless. This printer works perfectly with all three Macs in our home office.
