Cons: High price of replacement toners. Had a problem with the machine after 2000 copies. All images had a pink tinge to them. Emails between myself and Brother in Sydney resolved problem. They sent me a new Magenta toner and it fixed it. Then got black spots o
Pros: none report your problems to BBB in Brodgewater NJ 08807. I filed my complaint the other day
Cons: Too expensive to keep up for what I paid for it. The only thing that goes out on them are the consumables and they are not warranted. The drum in 235.00 from Brother. All 4 toners cost around 400.00 to keep up.
Summary: I purchased this unit to replace another same model printer that had just recently died. I have used Brother laser printers exclusively for the last 5 years and have been extremely pleased with the performance. This printer has a rugged heavy feel to it. Print speeds are very quick and noise factor is minimal. As with most printers though, the expense for consumables is expensive compared to the fairly purchase price point for the initial investment in a printer.
Summary: This is a great color laser pinter for a home or small office. Print quality is excellent. High capacity, in box, cartridges make it a cost effective solution when compared to other printers in it's price range. I unpacked the unit loaded the toner cartridges and had it connected to my network within 30 minutes. USB 2.0 and Ethernet connect-ability allow users the best choice for their work environment. The unit weighs in at 53 lbs.
Summary: I bought a Brother HL-4040CN at the local big box office supply store to print invoices and business cards in color. The price was right and the prints were beautiful in the store. Over the course of a year and TWO months, it ran fine. The week before it died, I checked the page count... 480 pages. Then one morning I turned it on and only the fans spun. Otherwise, nothing. I called Brother and they were totally unwilling to help.
