User Review

SweetTeach, Walmart

  • Summary: This printer makes great copies. Clear, crisp color and it makes 2-sided copies. The only thing I do not like is that this printer does not have a "scan" feature.

Excellent Printer For The Price

Op932, Costco
  • Summary: This does everything it's supposed to do with no issues. Set-up and operation are a breeze. I'm using it with a Windows and MacBook Pro and both operate flawlessly using WiFi. Another rater stated he couldn't find his toner status. It's as easy as looking at the software that came with the printer.
  • Pros: fast reliable easy to set-up
  • Cons: none that i can find

QUICK TIP FOR THOSE WANTING TO PRINT on heavy paper thicker than card-stock!!

Kimmy D, Amazon
21 April 2015
  • Summary: I love this printer! QUICK TIP - If you want to print paper thicker than cardstock, open the back panel to the printer, and voila! The thicker paper will come out of the open back panel, bypassing the rollers that the thicker paper gets stuck on.

Good home/small office printer

Mike L "Mike L", Amazon
30 March 2015
  • Summary: Brother printers offer decent print quality and speed for a competitive price. We printed several thousand pages of color and text right out of the box with it and it never had a hiccup.

When printer goes to sleep it loses wireless connection

Roman, Amazon
29 March 2015
  • Summary: Print quality is great. The Sleep makes it so printer disappears from the network, and after Windows fails printing once, it doesn't print until network is reset or printer powered down and up (and most of the time PC as well). Never had this issue with older Brother printers.

Color prints not bad - newspaper photo quality

Dee, Amazon
11 March 2015
  • Summary: As a techie, I did not have trouble setting up this printer, nor did I witness the "having to resetup wifi" issue that one of the 1-star posts mentioned. Furthermore, the color printing is not as bad as people make it out to be; they make it seem like one can only print charts/graphs - nope.

Good printer with only a few flaws

ThinkBob, Amazon
15 February 2015
  • Summary: Review first published to MyMac.com This innovative printer employes Light Emitting Diodes in place of a laser in the Xerographic process. Although Brother makes no such claims or promises, this new technology should lead to lower power consumption over a longer useful in-service lifespan.

Wireless setup a problem

Steve, Staples
14 February 2015
  • Excerpt: We replaced our Brother 3170 after it began to show problems with fusing of ink to paper. Since I was going with the same model, I expected an easy set up. Wrong. The wireless set up was difficult. Luckily the instructions and use of enclosed disk corrected the problem.
