Summary: I bought this printer to work with a Linux (Fedora 7) desktop computer at the home office and network. The usb connector worked for about 2 weeks and either burnt out (I am in the "lightning capital" of the USA) or it did it on it's own. I switched over to the old fashioned normal printer cable and it started working again. Linux recognized it no matter how it was connected and it started working from the moment it found it.
Summary: This printer is the best in the world. It print pictures 5.1 digital on the whole paper. It make it look real. I hate that you have to buy your own printer cause it come seperate with a computer.
Summary: I did some research and felt that the Brother offered better value than the HP color laserjets. The toner seems quite expensive, but it comes with toner about half-full. The printer is very heavy, but once I got it out of the box, the step-by-step directions to remove the protective packaging were exquisitely easy to understand. (I am gratified that a company took the effort to really make directions logical and easily understood!
