Summary: Been using Brother HL-L2360DW for a few months now. I print a lot so need something sturdy and dependable. This morning I needed to print 52 pages of important document. Set print, then went to get a cup coffee. When I came back, it was done. But I noticed that it was more than 52 pages. So I had to check. About page 23, it printed half a page, then it start printing from page 1 again till 52. Good thing I checked before turning this document in to the office.
Summary: Pro's 1. WIFI 2. Quiet 3. FAST PRINTING Con's 1. WIFI - setting up was a beast, not as intuitive as software should be. High learning curve. Also on my dualband ASUS router, the 5ghz just wouldn't work even though every setting was the same as 2.4ghz broadcast. 2. GRAPHICS...let's see, there's just no easy way to say it. Graphics are terrible, big time. I printed out a high resolution picture at 600dpi and 1200dpi and both had significant lines across, too many to count.
Excerpt: I have this printer for almost a week now. It prints fast and the prints are excellent. Warm up takes around 10-15 seconds before printing. Now on to the bad parts.1) The fan is extremely loud. I have a Dell color LED printer and the noise on this is louder.2) After the printing is done, this printer takes 10 minutes before it shuts off. The Dell I own takes 5 minutes and my HP LaserJet 1100 (yes it is old) is off after the last print.
Excerpt: It makes great copies! However, setup was challenging. For whatever reason whenever I print wirelessly, it tells me the device is not on YET when looking directly at the the printer why yes it is. I am uninstalling and reinstalling and am ever hopeful. More to come...
Excerpt: This printer is awesome and fast, BUT it will not scan. It will not install properly. We took the first one back, got another one and same thing. After researching the problem, we've found that we're not alone, its something that the company needs to fix, but hasnt. We're taking this one back too and will probably have to go back to HP. So research it before you buy it.
Excerpt: This copier/printer is slow, the scanner is not user friendly when attaching more than one page to an email and there is no document feeder for multiple pages to copy. I do not recommend this for business use.
Excerpt: This printer does a lot of things for very little money but doesn't do anything well enough to recommend it. The envelope and manual page feed gives a jam message most of the time and is unusable. Print output is average at best - not bad for the price. The scanner works well for quick scans to a PDF but everything is scanned as a color document, no matter what the original is. Therefore, file sizes are quite large.
Excerpt: I bought this 2280DW printer to replace my 2270DW that I've been very happy with but I need the capability to Scan/Copy. I have a iMac desk computer and a Macbook Pro laptop connected to the 2270DW through a wireless router. I plan on giving the 2270DW to a family member. My new HL-2280DW CD for MAC drivers did not include latest operating system OS X 10.9.1 (or any above 10.6) therefore no wireless connection and inability to add the new printer.
Excerpt: I was only using this wirelessly- If you want wirelss printing for apple products this is not your printer- you must use the brother app for the wireless printer which is a pin when it comes to printing websites. I could not figure out how to print email.. it does print docs well wirelessly. It would print regular hardwire well alsoBottom line- if you are an iphone or ipad or mac book user - find and airprint printer- if not then this is a good printer
Pros: Compact Design, Durable construction, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time, Low toner consumption, Reliable, Sharp detail
Excerpt: The cost for a toner is high when you count the actual number of pages produced. Would be just as cost effective to merely bring the originals to Staples for copying on their machines.Too easy to accidentally return the spent toner cartridge WITH the drum cartridge attached and Staples does not always check the return box to see if the drum cartridge is attached - drum is over $100 cost.
