Summary: I bought this printer in March of 2007 and now, in January of 2012, it is still working like a champ. Aside from the rare paper jam, I just keep sending documents to it and it just keeps on printing them up. Setup was easy. Network configuration, no problem. Inexpensive to purchase and maintain. Best printer I've ever owned. I also have several friends who are very pleased with this model and other Brother printers.
Summary: I bought this printer in mid 2008. I don't do tons of printing, but enough that I know I wasted a lot of money printing documents with an inkjet printer for years before I bought this Brother Laser printer. The toner cartridges last and last. And if you don't do a lot of printing, another plus is the ink don't dry up.
Summary: After going through a few of those "free with the computer" type printers I finally bit the bullet and bought this Brother printer about 5 years ago. I love it. I have never had a problem with it and I got it up and running in a flash. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to have at my other home. The only reason I thought to finally do a review was that I was searching for where to buy toner for my oldest Brother printer. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Summary: This printer had to replace an earlier multi-function HP device that wasn't consistently reliable w/Windows7 and using a USB chord adapter. I like the speed of out-put of this new rother Laser printer. Consumables will be a little pricey but are available as refills (i.e. cheaper than OEM). (It does require both toner and drum replacement at different intervals.
Summary: We have a bunch of computers in the house, so having a printer connected directly to a computer, then sharing that printer off of that computer, then making sure that computer was on using 150W of electricity and logged in...eh...that's a headache. This 2070N printer just plugs into the home network via a CAT5 cable and is assigned an IP address from the router just like any other computer on the home network. Each computer still needs a one-time driver set up.
Summary: it's overall a great printer, easy to use, plug and play really. i love all Brother's products. i would recommend this product. though i would buy a color printer with a scanner next time. only black and white isn't the most useful these days. oh but it's pretty heavy.
Summary: I have had this printer for two years and I have never had any trouble with it. The printer has only jammed paper 13 times in that time period and I have only had to replace the toner once. The toner replacement was super easy and practically took three steps. When I purchased this printer, it was $89.99 and at that time it was an unbeatable bargain. I use it networked with a few computers in my house. It works nicely with Linux, OS X, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
Pros: God where to start? 1) Network enabled laser printer for the cheap price. 2) Uses little toner, had the starter cartridge for over a year before needing to replace it. 3) Is able to do smtp, ftp, email notifications. ::Over all great printer.
Cons: I have read the rest of the reviews about people saying it curls the paper and will admit that it does curl the paper "a little" but not enough for me to be embarrassed. You have to install the drivers on every computer that is going to use it.
Summary: We have had it for over 4 years and it still works great. We probably print under 50 pages/month on average. It's much faster than our old ink-jet and since it's networked, much easier to share between multiple computers.
Keeps on ticking for cheap (given you know how to extend toner life and use generics!)

Summary: I've had the HL-2070N for several years now, and though it's not really sold anymore, I'm writing this review to help folks who may be wondering whether they should replace it or not (which is a tough decision, given I just saw ads at major retailers selling the HL-2140 for just under fifty bucks). I was trying to be less wasteful, so instead of tossing out my HL-2070N, I decided to get new toner.
