I purchased the Brother HL-2040 series laser printer a couple of months ago, not expecting too much. It is a relatively inexpensive printer for a laser printer, but I was desperate to reduce my ink costs, and laser printing seemed the way to go. I really love this printer! It has never jammed on me. GREAT Printer for Price and Size

I have had this printer for about 3 months now. I don't print with it everyday but I print many items over the weekends. I use the printer feed, 75% of the time, to print out shipping labels. I find this printer to be superb! It is compact enough, fits on a shelf in my closet, light enough to move back and forth to my desk. It prints incredibly fast and crisp for my purposes. I have not had any issues with jamming yet. I recommend it for fast and simple printer needs.... Read more

This printer is fine for printing text on regular 20 lb paper, but don't expect too much more than that. If you need to print labels or envelopes,each one has to be hand fed into the manual feeder, which is flimsy and doesn't always guide the paper in straight. It will not print heavier weight papers very well....they get hung in the printer about half way through the process and you will have to remove the cartridge and pick the paper pieces out. Read more
