Summary: The cartridge is TN2005 and there are good deals around. Came well packaged, not too big (good foot print), reliable, and I'm still using it 2 years on. I use it to print Music for my workshops and the quality is really good but I only needed black and white, it's reasonably quick to print too.
Summary: This is a reliable little printer, producing good quality prints without jamming. Though it prints on most days, it doesn't really get heavy use. This is why the replacement toner is still in its box after nearly two years.
Summary: Excellent Printer. I had one of these 2035's for 3 years and mistreated it with those cheap toner refil bottles. Big mistake. Don't do it - it clogs drums, pathways and can leak from the cartridge. Use compatibles if you must! After 3 years the drum needed replacing - but I do print quite a lot as I work from home and print almost every day.
Summary: (since I wrote this review, the price has gone sky high!) I used to use the printer/photocopier at the office until 6 months ago. Since then I had survived without any such kit, but I needed a printed invitation to enter an exam, so I had to buy a printer quickly and I got this one in a rush on the grounds that if I wanted anything in colour I could make a slower decision about it another time. It's an OK printer, but I think using the big office one spoilt me a bit.
Summary: I've had 3 Ink Jet printers all from different manufactures and all of which ended up with print problems. This is the first Laser printer that I have owned and the print quality is excellent. The installation of the printer was flawless and I had it up and running in no time thanks to the easy to follow instructions. Even with the default settings, the print quality was far better than anything I had had from my Ink Jet printers.
Summary: I first purchased a HL-2030 around 4 years ago as a personal printer for my office as a cheap alternative to a network based unit. I originally thought if it lasts a year then it was probably all I was going to get for £75. To be fair, this printer has been used extensively over the last 4 years and has never given any trouble (expect when I used very budget paper). I can confirm that this is a quality unit with long toner life.
Summary: Does the job well. Not much to be said that hasn't been said already, but I will say if you have never had a laser printer before then be aware that there is a somewhat noisy hum that is always on in the background so unlike inkjets it is never silent. Easy solution for this is just to turn the printer off at the on/off switch. It's very very quick to warm up and print anyway, about 5 seconds or so and print speed is incredibly fast compared to inkjets.
Summary: This is a day of receipt review. It certainly seems to be a fine printer, as expected, but I have noted some quirks which may be of interest to others: (i) It appears to be Belgian stock - that is to say, the hard copy installation guides were in French and Dutch/Flemish only and the power lead's two-pin plug would not fit directly into my UK three-pin socket - all that said my 'O' Level French was quite sufficient to master the installation without needing to find the...
