Summary: I have been purchasing this cartridge for well over 5 years and this time it appears that HP is cutting back on the quality of the Ink. After printing only a few pages, the print is already so faded that it seems like the cartridge has been used for over six months or so.
Summary: After three attempts to replace my 2 year old depleted 49X cartridge with three different new (from HP) 49X cartridges I spoke with HP technical support. Technical support said the 49X does not work with the "basic" HP 1320. (Other models maybe OK?) I was told to use the 49A cartridge. I did, and the 49A cartridge works well; just as well as the depleted 49X previously worked. It was time consuming and arduous to figure this out.
Excerpt: In your description - you have listed HP1160 as a compatible printer, but 1160 is not one of them. I purchased the 49X because it yields more copies than the 49A - but it did not fit in my 1160 model.
Excerpt: We absolutely love this toner, we have been using the "X" version for quite a few years, as it is the best value for your buck. We print a ton of invoices, faxes, sales orders each day and it is seriously the only toner we will ever use in our 1320 printer. Kudoes to HP for the best product on the marker!!!
Excerpt: This is the only cartridge I will purchase for my printer. I have ignored the manual before and purchased recycled toner cartridges and "knock-offs" from other stores, and although they worked, they did not have as much print life as the HP 49x Cartridge. Go HP Products! Yea!
Excerpt: I don't agree with the earlier review that stated the 49X 'wouldn't fit" in the 1320 model. I have an HP Laser Jet 1320 and I interchange the 49 A and 49 X every year. I'm an income tax preparer and during the busy season, I use the 49X because it gives me more for my money and lets me change cartridges less often. In the off season when I don't use the printer much, I use 49A so I don't have my money tied up all summer in a printer that I only use occasionally.
