Summary: The Dell 1700N is truly a solid workhorse. It holds up beautifully to all of the abuse that a small home office provides. I can use it with any of my systems, be they the linux boxes or the Windows boxes, without problems. This is definitely not true of many of the newer laser printers. My only regret is that it does not come with a duplexer. But for my needs, that is a minor issue.
Summary: The Pros: This is the perfect printer for a small office or home network. Easy to setup and install. literally plug in the power and CAT5 then press 2 buttons and its ready to go. Drivers for windows xp and windows vista on the website (vista drivers work for windows 7). Great print quality and the 29 pages a minute are nice. The toner is only about $25 on the web and photo drum is only $50 so its cheap to operate!
Summary: I purchased this printer for my business. I went from offset printing to laser, because it was cheaper. This is my 3rd Dell 1700 printer that I have purchased off ebay this year. I'm very, very satisfied with this printer, because of the low price and high print speed. The print quality is excellent with the 600/1200 DPI. The toner for this printer is very cheap with 6000 sheet at 5 percent coverage. The drum for this printer is also cheap with 30,000.
Summary: Product worked as described. Been running for about a month now with no problems. ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: we were looking for an extra printer for med records in my office. i'm glad all works fine. it took a bit of time to get installed. it would be easier if the disk was included, but overall, good toner/printer.
Summary: I'm very satisfied with this printer in general considering the low price and high print speed. The print quality is actually the 600/1200 DPI they claim. After the initial physical warm-up, which only occurs when coming out of the power-save mode, the time-to-first-page is just a few seconds, and when printing standard text and line art it seems to be able to keep up with the full 27 PPM speed.
Summary: The cheapest B&W Laser printer in cost per page. Cheap toners.Little noisy but pretty quick.Fast start up time and VERY crispy text quality. This Dell printer is made by Lexmark and Lexmark is a IBM brand .I would highly recommend this one for very cheap running cost, not expensive to buy and a very good quality printer.
