Functional, but Not Apple-friendly
Summary: The device is compact and specifically designed for the Canon printer products. It does not pair with Apple products, but works with Android devices without issue. I had the hardest time detecting the device with my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Frankly, I believe the price is too high to NOT work with all systems.
Excerpt: I bought the Canon ip100 printer recently and needed wireless printing from my phone and tablets. So I got the bluetooth adapter, and it works GREAT!!! You can plug it into into the USB port or place it inside the printer housing. Download the app to your devices and you are good to go anywhere with your portable printer!!! GREAT!!!!
Summary: Purchased to use with an iPhone. Although the reviews available indicated no one had tried this with an iPhone, I gave it a try. Impossible to get my phone and printer to connect using this device. Completely disappointed!
Summary: I've been using this Bluetooth adapter on my Canon MP470 all-in-one printer with my 13 in MacBook, and I had absolutely no problem attaching, installing and printing without wires. I was up and printing within five minutes. Very few steps were involved with settup, the most challenging part was finding the port on the printer where I was to plug in the adapter, but I quickly found that it is located on the bottom right of the front of the printer.
You Don't Need This Expensive Adapter....Any Cheap Bluetooth Adapter Will Work Just As Well

Summary: You do not need this expensive adapter....any Bluetooth adapter will work. I plugged in my $7.99 adapter (Kinivo BTD-300 Bluetooth 3.0 USB adapter) and it worked just fine. My cheaper Bluetooth adapter is actually more reliable than the much more expensive Canon BU-30! Why spend over $40 when you can get a better adapter for $8? Also, this adapter is big and sticks out of the side of the printer, leaving it easily vulnerable to damage.
Pricey but Convenient Wireless Printing with Some Canon Models

Summary: The obvious plus of installing this device is not having to use a printer cable which takes up another USB port on your computer. Unfortunately there are some downsides, aside from the ridiculously high cost for this device, which include: 1. Lack of installation instructions included with this device can be challenging.
Summary: Took a bit of time getting this to run smoothly with my Macbook laptop and Canon printer, including a call to Canon service (I tried troubleshooting it at Canon's website, but could not find my specific problem in setting it up), but once it was up and operating I love that I can now wirelessly print from my laptop--and it does so smoothly and consistently. Love it!
