Just What I Needed

Edward S., Newegg
10 January 2015
  • Pros: I chose the TP-Link TL-PS110P because someone said it worked with Windows 7 64bit. I took it out of the box, hooked it up, and followed the instructions. The installation wizard that came with the port wouldn't run so I downloaded the installation wizard from the web site. It ran and installed th...

Nice Upgrade from Hawking

Robert H., Newegg
2 April 2014
  • Summary: This print server works on both my Win XP 32-bit and Win7 64-bit machines. I had to install these because my Hawking print server ports were not recognized by my new Windows 7 PC. I was hesitant about replacing my Hawking print servers, as they have always worked well with no problems.
  • Pros: Allows me to continue using my old Brother and Canon Printers on the network with both Win7 and Win XP. An inexpensive upgrade.
  • Cons: None really. Easily replaced my Hawking devices.

Saved my bacon!

John G., Newegg
22 February 2014
  • Summary: Great idea which saves you from obsoleting your decades old printer!
  • Pros: I am using the paeallel version with an HP4P Laserjet which was NOT listed in the compatibility table. However, it works like a charm connected to my Ethernet-connected router (hard-wired). If you have the option, the USB may provide a faster data transfer if that is a consideration for you.
  • Cons: Haven't detected any so far

easy installation on HP LaserJet 4Plus

GLENN S., Newegg
11 January 2014
  • Summary: This print server is a very slick little device. It attached to the back of my HP LaserJet 4Plus printer and took up no more room than the parallel port cable connector it replaced. I plugged in power and cat 5e cable and turned everything on.
  • Pros: As small as a Centronics parallel port connector Easy installation Works with HP LaserJet 4Plus
  • Cons: none yet

Works after a bit of futzing

Matthew M., Newegg
25 March 2013
  • Summary: It takes a bit of futzing to get this to work, and setting up the printer on your various PCs can be a little bit of a chore, but once you get through all that it does work seamlessly.
  • Pros: - Small - Works as expected - Fits in the cable access area of my HPLJ6 with the door closed (barely)
  • Cons: - Uses a separate AC adapter instead of using power from the printer. - Have to route that power cable and plug into a second outlet.

just works

David W., Newegg
3 March 2013
  • Pros: Plug it in, program it and let it work. I purchased 4 of these to replace D-Link usb print servers that kept dropping off the network. These have been flawless. Always best to lock them down with a static IP.
  • Cons: Of course you need a printer with a parallel port like the Brother lasers I'm using. Like all network print servers the printer cannot be a gdi unit. That is, some cheaper inkjets or mfc printers will not work because of the way they do bidirectional data flow. But any PCL or PS printer will work...

26 January 2013
  • Pros: Connected to my old LaserJet 4L's parallel port and accessed via my Windows 8 PC. The installation was easy and worked the first time around. Absolutely no problems. I would highly recommend this for the price, ease of installation, and usability.
