Works with my Samsung ML-1430, and Mac OS X (with...
1 April 2007
Summary: I got my ML-1430 working with the Netgear PS121 (after much head-banging), when I realized that the one Samsung printer tested by Netgear did not support test pages from the PS121. I had been printing test pages all along and they did not work, but I could tell something was happening because the printer would start its engines and get ready to print, and then nothing would happen for long minutes until the printer timed out. As soon as I printed something normal, voila!
Pros: Small, simple, and inexpensive (if refurbished).
Cons: Netgear setup instructions are bad, doesn't support test pages on ML-1430.
Creditless Company doing bussiness with bad manner
14 January 2007
Summary: Creditless Company doing bussiness with bad manner (Personally I believer they are doing bussiness with some kind of fooling customers). This menufactuer deliberately sell product in rebate form stating Compusa rebate is no problem. After submiting rebate they said compusa purchase is not valid for online. And they omited this in rebate form on purchase. Said Compusa only include Compusa Store.
Pros: basic device
Cons: Creditless Company doing bussiness with bad manner (Personally I believer they are doing bussiness with some kind of fooling customers)
Summary: First off, a network print server is a MUST-HAVE if you have a Home/Office LAN or Wireless-LAN, an existing USB printer, and several LAN users/PCs that want to share same printer INDEPENDENTLY from each PC. Ok, 3 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT THE PS121 ------------------------------------------- 1. MULTI-FUNCTION PRINTERS CAN ONLY PRINT, but scan/copy/fax functions are NOT supported. Also, advanced printer functions like low-ink-warning are NOT supported.
Pros: Convenience of sharing USB printer from each PC idependent. Good price/value under $10.
Summary: Great print server. I didn't use the setup CD that came with it to connect my printers. Instead, I just added a printer to the network via TCP/IP and it worked fine. I like the fact that it's small and compact.
Pros: Fairly simple setup. It is possible to make this thing work with any printer that use's a USB connection.
Summary: It is very easy to install the server following the the supplied CD. The CD explains clearly how to set the IP and how to configure the server. Basically for to make any computer in the local network to support the server, just run the CD. And it works for quite a lot of printers.
Summary: Used this to hook my Samsung laser up to my network. I did have to buy a usb cable to work with the parallel interface, but still worked just fine. Would have liked a wireless version, but for the price, couldn't pass this one up and it works great.
Summary: This thing works amazingly well for me. I have heard lots of complains about the incompatibility issues. It did not happen to me. Now all my computers can share one printer over my home network. I used to set up one computer as a server for printer sharing, which is very slow comparing to this guy.
Summary: I hooked up my epson rx500 with the server...The printing worked but I was not able to use other all in one features of printer. So I hope that servers designed in future comes with more extra features and compatiblity with all in ones. The setup was easy and I did not have any issues installation so far. I have 3 computers in house and one printer makes life much more easier.
Pros: Wireless Printing, Stable, Compatiblity with most routers
Cons: Wired, Cannon make multifunction printer wirelss
