Much better than the dewalt!

Chad Curphy "drizzt", Amazon
4 May 2013
  • Summary: Nice, square, and compact so packs really easy. Speakers are decent. Only wish I could plug it in and charge it. You with either run off the battery or off the electric cable, but it does not charge when plugged in.

Good Radio Poor Packaging

Lawrence W. Marcus, Amazon
31 July 2012
  • Summary: The Radio is fine and exactly what I expected, but the packaging was a joke. It came in a box with plenty of room to move and no cushion of any sort inside. Picked the box up and almost fell out of my hand. I know its supposed to be a job site radio, but come on.

Bare Bones

Stretch, amazon.com
23 January 2012
  • Summary: This is a no-frills, bare bones portable radio. The only real rationale for purchasing is that you have other Makita battery-powered tools and want to be able to power it with one of your existing batteries. That's the primary reason I purchased it. But if you're looking for a high performance, feature rich, great sounding portable boombox, then this isn't it. You can get a much better unit for a fraction of the price at your local CVS Pharmacy.

Great work radio

Rickf, amazon.com
19 January 2012
  • Summary: I needed a Christmas gift for my son and thought this would be perfect. The Makita radio compliments his Makita drill/driver. After checking other radios, I found this one to be lighter and of great sound. The price from Amazon was fantastic, so it was an easy buy. Coworkers also enjoy the radio and have thought about purchasing one for themselves. Lightweight and Powerful.

JC, amazon.com
14 January 2012
  • Summary: I bought this radio for my husband for Christmas. He loves, loves, loves it. It sounds great and is easy to carry around. It seems a little expensive when you figure in the battery, charger and radio, but it is well worth it.

Great sound!

Steve S., amazon.com
3 January 2012
  • Summary: This radio is very compact with great sound and runs for a long time off of a battery. Wish it had the battery charger option ,but from what I understand dewalt is the only one who offers that. It's still a great addition to any jobsite.

Buy a different radio

Kalen, amazon.com
28 December 2011
  • Summary: Amazon's "technical details" of this product say: "Makita compact lithium-ion battery and Energy Star rated 15-minute rapid optimum charger produces 430 percent total lifetime work with 2.5 times more cycle" However, there is NO CHARGER ON THIS RADIO. Don't let this false advertising duke you into buying this like I did. What is the point of this radio if it doesn't have a charger? It just drains your batteries instead of using them in your tools.
