Summary: I bought this product for my Leatherman Wave for $9.93 from Amazon.com LLC. Arrived on the date of delivery estimate. Accdg. to the box, it can be used with the following Leatherman tools: MUT, MUT EOD, Surge, Charge (TTi, AL, ALX), Wave, Skeletool, Skeletool CX. As with most reviews here, in the beginning, the bits get stuck to the bit extender. Very hard to remove initially. I had to use pliers to get it out.
Summary: I bought this extension along with a Skeletool and the additional bits. It is very functional and the added reach is just what is needed to finish a job without having to go get other tools sometimes. The product performs quite well with standard hex type driver bits however I find it rather difficult to remove the Leatherman brand bits from this extension. I only use it with hex based bits.
Summary: Like some other reviewers, I experienced the issue of a bit getting stuck in this extension. It took 2 pairs of vice-grips and a lot of determination to finally get them apart. The good news is after that the bits don't seem to get stuck. Maybe there's a sharp groove that gets dulled a bit after a few uses. That being said, this is a great accessory for the Leatherman, it fits perfectly in the nylon case and makes it possible to replace a screwdriver for small jobs.
Summary: I bought this thinking it will turn my Wave into an amazing screw driver. Not so. First of all, when you put a bit into the end, half of the time it gets stuck and it is very hard to take the bit out. I actually had to use a Vicegrip at one point because the Leatherman pliers would slip. Secondly, the end that connects the extender to the Leatherman isn't very secure so with some movement, it slips out.
Summary: The bit driver extension makes it much easier to use Leatherman bits without all the hassle. Along with the Leatherman 40-Bit Assortment kit for Leatherman Bit Drivers this is an in disposable item. I have gotten many uses out of this and it never fails me. Would defiantly recommend to any Leatherman fans.
Summary: Very useful in that it allows you to use your Leatherman as a bit driver (along with a Leatherman bit assortment, or standard hex bits). However it fits very loosely in the Leatherman socket so it's fairly wobbly in use. At the other end, it hold bits very securely so you'll need a firm grip to remove them.
Summary: This Leatherman bit extension driver completes my Leatherman Wave set that I carry in a belt pouch everyday with the torch. It is a complete tool kit for the job I have. The driver extension makes it a more flexablie tool kit in a pouch. Would never be without it.
Summary: This accessory only has to do three things: connect with the large Leatherman bit holder, connect with standard hex bits, and put some distance between the two connections. The distance part is trivial, but Leatherman fumbled the hex bit connection. They stuck a wire loop in the mechanism to keep bits held in place, but it holds them so tight that you can't get the bits out. I had to use a big pair of groovelock pliers to remove a standard DeWalt bit.
