Summary: I purchased a hitachi ds140vf3 drill kit to replace my older cordless drill of another make, which was experiencing short charge life of the NiCad battery pack. I had tried the deep discharge/recharge cycle several times, but the battery would self-discharge when unused for a period of time. I understand this is natural with NiCads. That being said, I decided to purchase a new drill. My choice was the Hitachi because it was on sale and had two batteries, plus flashlight.
Summary: Recently used this product to install a small drywall ceiling in a bathroom. I was able to adjust the screw depth with the adjustable screw depth feature. I have not used the flashlight yet, but I am sure that it will work just as well.
Summary: I use it for home and auto and not many jobs, but sure injoy the cordless operation when working outside. Batteries seem to hold charge well. With the two you can always have on on charge and read to go.
