Summary: Bought as replacement for same model which walked off a job site. Had first one for several years. Have a larger, heavier, more powerful Porter Cable which works better on certain jobs (say built-up roof rip after a fire). The Dewalt worked, just not as quick.
Summary: I had been wanting/needing a saw for awhile, but didn't want to spend the money that I saw for those run off battery. Between the saw, battery, and charger (+ blades) it was > $200. So, chose this saw for 1/2 that price - but of course have to live with the power cord.
Summary: This is my first experience with a reciprocating saw, so you'll want to take my commentary with a grain of salt. I bought this tool because I knew I would need something like this to cut through a wall under my steps to add more storage space (Drywall + Metal Studs).
Summary: Looks good and works good, but the keyless blade holder is a poor design. The blade in mines is very wobble and I had to send it to a factory center. Got it back and after several uses wobbles again. Wont buy Dewalt recipro saw again.
Summary: I have this saw's cordless cousin, but needed something with some more oompf as my wife started using it to cut branches and do yard work. The cordless one in situations like that rips through batteries and is a bit on the anemic side. This one on other hand runs and runs and runs.
Summary: This saw is very powerful and runs very smoothly. What I was most pleased about was the ease of installing and removing the blade. Just a lift of a lever. That, coupled with the fact that the blade can be installed up, down, left or right, making the "always versatile" reciprocating saw even more...
Summary: My kids and I got this for my husband for fathers day, and he loves it. The only downside to it is it did not come with any blades - which the description did not mention. 9That was a little disappointing - if I would have known it did not come with one i would have purchased it also.
