XFX used to be better

Anonymous, Newegg
23 December 2015
  • Summary: Stay away, having purchased xfx video cards in the past I expected MUCH better build quality from this PSU.
  • Pros: Worked for about 5 weeks
  • Cons: Died after 5 weeks, replaced with 550w so you know it's not overloaded.

Should have kept the UPC

Joshua C., Newegg
26 September 2015
  • Summary: I should had kept my UPC, forget the rebate. Now I have a defective brick sitting around my apartment.
  • Pros: Felt solid.
  • Cons: Fans had a bearing issue or something causing them to intermittently make annoying ticking noises. I checked and nothing was caught in it. Computer was prone to freezing up while I was using this PSU, which hasn't happened since I switched to a Thermaltake toughpower.

Quit after 4 Months

Jesse M., Newegg
22 June 2015
  • Pros: Looks nice and has a lot of power and plugs. 5 yr warranty if you can ever contact customer support for an RMA
  • Cons: Randomly quit after 4 Months. If I were you I wouldn't even try and bother with customer support for an RMA, they seem non existent. I've never had this company go wrong until now, I had higher expectations than this.

Owned for 3 Months - Literally Went Up in Smoke

Tabatha S., Newegg
19 June 2015
  • Pros: Excellent price point. Otherwise awesome manufacturer According to hardocp a solid performer At least it didn't burn my house down
  • Cons: Owned it for three months and the thing went up in smoke while playing Ark. When I took the PSU out it leaked brown fluid all over my hands and case. So longevity may be a con?

Dead on arrival

Eric C., Newegg
5 May 2014
  • Summary: After trying to get a replacement on their site and reading the review from another retailer that stated a customer got a doa unit and then the replacement was doa, I decided to just ship this back to newegg.
  • Pros: Nice look to it. Long cords. Nice packaging. Decent warranty.
  • Cons: Power supply did not work. RMA site on Xfx is just awful.

One shot wonder

Jared M., Newegg
29 March 2014
  • Pros: Nice package.
  • Cons: I selected this PSU for a new system build based on specs and many favorable reviews. Installation went well, and it powered the system through OS installation, updates, etc. I shutdown the system, unplug it from the wall and go on a trip for week only to return to a dead PSU. I followed the manu...

This unit is not very good.

Joseph M. Varga, Amazon
14 July 2012
  • Summary: I replaced a 750w pc power and cooling unit with this. The 750w PCP&C could power my SLI 670s just fine but I figured I was skirting the edge of required power so I would upgrade to be safe... WRONG.
