Summary: I just mailed out the rebate form the end of last week, so hopefully processing that won't take too long. 4 Stars since I did have a connector break on me during installation. (even though I was the cause, though I hardly consider this misuse/abuse)
Pros: I installed this in a new system I built for gaming. AMD Radeon said it needed some juice, so after psu sizing calcs netted me upper 700's I went with this. New Egg/XFX had a rebate that made this a steal. Can't hear it at all, All functioning as a PSU should. Looks sweet!
Cons: Not Modular, and Lots o Cables. I knew that when I bought it, the price with rebate made me buy it anyway, but Man its a lot of cables to get out of the way for airflow. Because there were so many cables, I broke one of the sata connectors by pulling too hard on it, while it was connected to my H...
Summary: So,what say you XFX? I know you guys make quality stuff and your customer service has always been top notch. So what's the deal? Is it the PSU in your opinion and if so,should i go ahead and start the RMA process? I'm kinda *expletive deleted* without a PSU for weeks though.
Pros: It looks great and kinda works for most of what i need it for. The price and rebate are freakin awesome too.
Cons: So,i have this thing attached to a MSI X99A SLI Plus with a 5820k,Corsair H105,XFX Radeon R9 390 ,6 hard drives (2 SSD),7 120mm fans and 16gb (4x4) Corsair Vengeance 2400. The problem is that when i put all the memory in (in quad channel config) the machine will boot but there's no video. When i ...
Pros: A good deal on a well-reviewed 850 watt supply.
Cons: Fan noise. I thought I could live with it, but it drove me crazy. The rest of my system is quiet - the power supply fan was louder than all three case fans and all three fans on my graphics card combined. Today I took it out and replaced it. Now it sits in my basement, where it will remain until ...
Summary: I should had kept my UPC, forget the rebate. Now I have a defective brick sitting around my apartment.
Pros: Felt solid.
Cons: Fans had a bearing issue or something causing them to intermittently make annoying ticking noises. I checked and nothing was caught in it. Computer was prone to freezing up while I was using this PSU, which hasn't happened since I switched to a Thermaltake toughpower.
