so far so good

Ye T., Newegg
2 July 2015
  • Summary: my potential disappointment if it fails to live up to its predecessor? I ran my old antec to hell and back and seasonic psus have treated me well in the past. I'm hoping that trend continues.
  • Pros: replacing out my 6 year antec earthwatts 500, also a seasonic based psu which I was running a bit past its 500w capacity and needed something with a bit more headroom. currently running a fx6300 oc to 4.5, 16gb ram and a bios-mod hd6950 running as a 6970 and even on full load, the psu doesnt kick...
  • Cons: none really.

It's Alive and Well

Anonymous, Newegg
25 June 2015
  • Summary: Couldn't resist the Newegg's Shell Shocker price of $59.99 after discount and rebate. Needed to replace an apx 10 year old Seasonic S12 PSU. Reading the reviews it seems hit or miss on this XFX PSU. It arrived well packaged. Tested it out with a light load with a multimeter with good results.
  • Pros: Price, 5 year warranty, quiet, and Seasonic based product
  • Cons: None encountered

Quit after 4 Months

amy m., Newegg
22 June 2015
  • Pros: Looks nice and has a lot of power and plugs. 5 yr warranty if you can ever contact customer support for an RMA
  • Cons: Randomly quit after 4 Months. If I were you I wouldn't even try and bother with customer support for an RMA, they seem non existent. I've never had this company go wrong until now, I had higher expectations than this.

Owned for 3 Months - Literally Went Up in Smoke

Tabatha S., Newegg
19 June 2015
  • Pros: Excellent price point. Otherwise awesome manufacturer According to hardocp a solid performer At least it didn't burn my house down
  • Cons: Owned it for three months and the thing went up in smoke while playing Ark. When I took the PSU out it leaked brown fluid all over my hands and case. So longevity may be a con?

Good PSU for the money

Paul R., Newegg
8 March 2015
  • Summary: Great PSU, Great price. Pushes my new rig right along.
  • Pros: Received this last Wednesday, and I put it in the new system I bought in pieces on here. Works really well, not an issue yet. It's quiet, and it pushes everything I've asked of it, including an R9-285, 125W Octocore CPU, and 3 traditional SATA drives. I really like the flat cables, they're easy t...
  • Cons: Umm... It was a little difficult to identify the 4+4 pin connector for CPU Power? I think that was the only issue, lol. Just took me a minute to find it because all the cables and ends are black. At least the PCI-E connectors had PCI-E on them so even though I grabbed the same cable probably 3 ti...

Excellent PSU

Wenchi P., Newegg
9 October 2014
  • Summary: I bougt this because it looked great, but it is truly a solid, reliable Seasonic-made unit. I have been running an overclocked FX-8150 (4.6 GHz), and an overclocked 660ti (previously 6950 bios-update to 6970), along with 16gb of overclocked Corsair Vengeance, an SSD and two hard drives.
  • Pros: -Reliable -Quiet -Looks great -Plenty of juice for OC and SLI/Crossfire
  • Cons: -Not modular -Only Bronze

Grossly overlooked

Firmin F., Newegg
6 June 2014
  • Summary: I understand XFX is known for their fine quality video cards. I have an old 4870 that I had on a previous build on this build I presently. It has been about 4 years and that XFX 4870 video card is still going strong with no hiccups.
  • Pros: Good solid power supply. No problems with it at all. No hiccups, no power drains, no noise, hardly ever gets hot, quiet. Had this item for 2.5 years and not a single solitary problem with this power supply. It is a true workhorse that many computer enthusaists just overlook. I turn mty computer a...
  • Cons: No cons. None at all.

Dead on arrival

Eric C., Newegg
5 May 2014
  • Summary: After trying to get a replacement on their site and reading the review from another retailer that stated a customer got a doa unit and then the replacement was doa, I decided to just ship this back to newegg.
  • Pros: Nice look to it. Long cords. Nice packaging. Decent warranty.
  • Cons: Power supply did not work. RMA site on Xfx is just awful.

One shot wonder

Jared M., Newegg
29 March 2014
  • Pros: Nice package.
  • Cons: I selected this PSU for a new system build based on specs and many favorable reviews. Installation went well, and it powered the system through OS installation, updates, etc. I shutdown the system, unplug it from the wall and go on a trip for week only to return to a dead PSU. I followed the manu...
