Summary: Picked this up for a high mid-end gaming build and has been working flawlessly so far. There have been concerns of coil whine in these Seasonic-based XFX PSUs, but I have not noticed any noises whatsoever.
Pros: No Coil Whine (YMMV), Low Profile Cables, Great Value, Hybrid Fan Mode, Fully Modular, 80+ Gold
Cons: Cables are very stiff, Not Black Edition, Actually XTR
Summary: The rebate I mailed in was rejected as they claim I never included the barcode from the box, that was bullshit as I triple checked everything. Never trust mail in rebates, is a freaking scam for this. PSU is good though and good value (just don't count on mail in rebate).
Pros: Works as advertised, I have no issues at all with this power supply.
Good PSU- Power Up a xfx hd 7950 correctly and now I have lower power consumption
6 October 2013
Summary: I bought this PSU to power up a XFX HD7950 after a coolermaster RS 700 Watts failed to do the homework. I liked that is modular, the compatibility with the card and that is more power efficient too.
Pros: Love the modular design. Really saves on packaging space since I dont have one giant plug. Quiet on standard mode, but I haven't had a chance to really tax it yet.
Cons: No straight connector for my SSD drive, so I could not mount it to the side of the case behind the mobo. So now I have 4 bays installed for one SSD because of the 90 degree connector. Oh well, have to spend a few more bucks to get another cable. An LED power indicator would have been nice.
Summary: Overall an excellent unit, except for moderate coil whine, which review sites rarely mention for PSUs. It could be heard up to 2m away, more or less if I turn my head with the left ear facing it, or through the computer case if has fan vents or not.
Pros: 1. High quality parts and specs, 2. Fully modular, 3. Borderline 80 Plus Platinum efficiency for a Gold Unit, 4. Hybrid Mode fan won't spin at low loads, 5. On sale around $100 after MIR
Cons: 1. Moderate coil whine., Varying degrees have been brought up in reviews elsewhere for Seasonic KM3 units. Mines doesn't seem like an isolated issue., 2. Ribbon cables., Only the ATX cable is sleeved (to prevent cuts from the case), 3. MIR, 4. The modular connectors may be very tight to clip and ...
Summary: No problems so far, after reading about numerous other power supplies that either were dead on arrival or failed within the first few months I was concerned. Price was excellent from Amazon and 4 months later still no issues.
