Summary: If you have Win 7, then you need just to connect cables up and it is all. The icon shows how much power left, and if the power goes off, then it saves files and switches the computer off. As well the sound goes on (beeps) and you know that you computer takes a current from the batteries. The beeps are annoing.
Summary: A very good product with four outlets that to protect the desktop , monitor and printer. I also use this to protect my laptop when using it at home (battery removed). There are also four outlets that are just for surge protection. With software that will save and close opened files which is connected via a USB port is an exceptionally valuable tool. A one time insurance policy to protect hardware and software, it would be absolutely foolish not to have one.
Summary: I have used APC in the past, but this size unit has been a disappointment with them. So far Tripp lite has been good. (2months) There has been a coupla outages, and no problems. It shuts down Windows without so much as a beep. Personally I don't need a lot of beeping to tell me the power is out. I can tell when there's an outage 'cause the lights go out. Install was super easy.
