Summary: Purchased two of these units; both have functioned perfectly. Audible alarm sounds upon power loss, power to desktop PC's remain online just fine. Very satisfied customer. There was a noticeable odor during first day of operation, I'm thinking that it must have something to do with the new batteries...
Pros: Rather compact, looks great, works great, ports clearly labeled.
Cons: Emits odor upon first use, but only lasted for about the first day.
Cons: Purchased 2 of those about 5 years ago and one somehow got short circuit somewhere inside and the dangerous thing is that the surge protection was not working anymore, so when there was a power surge, one of our expensive device got burned. Sure there is a warranty against that, but how do you pr...
Summary: This has all the appearances of cheap chineese junk. I bought this because I trusted Tripp Lite from almost 30 years of use in my labs at work. I expcect it will work as a UPS just fine but not until it finishes outgassing.
Pros: It looks good sitting in my garage and completely overpowers the smell of gasoline, diesel fuel and laquer thinner.
Cons: I am actually afraid of chemical poisoning from this unit. I would never subject my family to such a contamination. After one week in the garage it is still on my biohazard list.
Cons: We bought 12 of these and 4 of them have already failed. I'm not holding out much hope for the rest. I'm going to go ahead and replace them with UPSs from Direct UPS. We've had no problems with those.
Pros: Compact. Easy to install with the new wall mountable chassis
Cons: After changing the chassis it seems that they also changed the insides also. I have bought 20 of these and they worked fine. The last 5 i bought 1 was DOA and the other 4 are overcharging. I dont have the boxes for these ones and it costs too much in shipping to try to get them replaced.
Cons: Got the unit, opened the box and immediately noticed a pungent smell. It reminds me of permanent marker. My computer is in my bedroom, and after a day of it plugged in, I had to remove the ups from any livable space. The smell got worse after it heated up. Almost to the point where I got a headac...
