Great Product!

James K., Newegg
25 March 2014
  • Summary: Noticed the negative comments are quite old. Maybe there was a problem back then, but certainly not now. I have over 25 of these around the company and they work great.
  • Pros: Compact design. Works as advertised.
  • Cons: Better marking or highlighting of the battery backup and surge protect only areas would be nice. Some less sophisticated users of computers don't pay attention to the words.

Great Product

Brian H., Newegg
1 May 2013
  • Summary: Purchased two of these units; both have functioned perfectly. Audible alarm sounds upon power loss, power to desktop PC's remain online just fine. Very satisfied customer. There was a noticeable odor during first day of operation, I'm thinking that it must have something to do with the new batteries charging for the first time. The odor wasn't too bad, and subsided after the first day of use. Not a deal-breaker for me. Will be purchasing two more of these units soon.
  • Pros: Rather compact, looks great, works great, ports clearly labeled.
  • Cons: Emits odor upon first use, but only lasted for about the first day.

  • Summary: Bought 3 for my office. Works as described. Have to hold down the on/off button a couple of seconds to turn on/off. This is not obvious, but is documented - once you read through the manual. Should have been printed on the UPS.

  • Summary: My main UPS (950va Tripplite) is shutting down periodically, and I realised it was turning off the cable modem and router. I ordered this one for those items. Took it home, plugged it in, turned it on - it works. Have not expereienced any power failures since purchase, but I am confident it will perform as designed.

be very careful, damaging stuff

Al L., Newegg
21 June 2012
  • Pros: work for about 5 years
  • Cons: Purchased 2 of those about 5 years ago and one somehow got short circuit somewhere inside and the dangerous thing is that the surge protection was not working anymore, so when there was a power surge, one of our expensive device got burned. Sure there is a warranty against that, but how do you proof it? We still have another one that's still working, and we take precaution to connect only devices that will not be too expensive if it burned, but basically you got what ...

Megga Outgassing

Steve L., Newegg
19 January 2010
  • Summary: This has all the appearances of cheap chineese junk.
  • Pros: It looks good sitting in my garage and completely overpowers the smell of gasoline, diesel fuel and laquer thinner.
  • Cons: I am actually afraid of chemical poisoning from this unit. I would never subject my family to such a contamination. After one week in the garage it is still on my biohazard list.

Buyer Beware

Jason G., Newegg
18 December 2008
  • Pros: They work for a week.
  • Cons: We bought 12 of these and 4 of them have already failed. I'm not holding out much hope for the rest. I'm going to go ahead and replace them with UPSs from Direct UPS. We've had no problems with those.
