Took a dump

Sam B., Newegg
8 December 2015
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: The semi-modular part left a lot of stuff not needed to it still cluttered up the case. The fan bearing starting making a lot of noise just prior to the expiration of the warranty. The wanted to RMA it but has an ETA of 3month.... so I bought another power supply that was fully modular.

Still going after all these years

Anonymous, Newegg
2 April 2015
  • Summary: 4 stars because I just don't know how good it is or how bad it is. It works for me, but I could just be lucky. To me it feels too heavy to be complete garbage, and it looks to be high quality. For my next major PSU purchase, I will do more research. I gambled on this one, but I won.
  • Pros: I bought this on Oct. 12, 2012 Today is April 4, 2015 I first ran it with one Gigabyte WindForce GTX670 (factory OC on 680 PCB) then a year later bought another identical GTX670 for SLI. Been running that for a couple years now. I have always OC'd my CPU from day one, never ran it at stock speed e...
  • Cons: I have seen no in-depth review of this EXACT PSU from someone who has pulled it apart and inspected the build quality and components and thoroughly tested it on a bench, as far as I can tell, so it may be "junk", but mine works great.

It was great, while it lasted

Christian R., Newegg
18 February 2015
  • Summary: , BUT I recently RMA'd it and I received a "comparable" replacement, but upon closer inspection to the unit I noticed some key differences (Seeing as they didn't make my unit anymore) 1. The unit is smaller and made of a cheaper material 2. The cords are of lesser quality 3.
  • Pros: Quiet, purrrtyyyy, Cross Shipping RMA
  • Cons: Now I would've given this product a five for the speed of RMA and the 5 Year Warranty

No good

steven d., Newegg
8 August 2014
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Everything that could go wrong with a power supply has done so in less than 1 year. I've tried multiple times to get a hold of Thermaltakes customer service (email/phone) and I have not had a single reply. I would not recommend this product

Bang for your buck

scarlet v., Newegg
20 April 2014
  • Pros: This thing was a steal when I bought it, I caught it on sale for 89.99 with a $20 rebate which made it 69.99. Has more than enough wattage to power a system that's borderline top of the line gaming system. And the name is just awesome!

Died after 2 years

Boris K., Newegg
22 March 2014
  • Summary: Pricy and unreliable.
  • Pros: A lot of convenient connectors.
  • Cons: Died after 2 years and one month. Customer service requires original receipt for a free repair (even if it has 5 years of warranty), which I don't have because I bought it in a local retailer.

Bad PSU and bad customer service

James K., Newegg
19 February 2014
  • Pros: Modular Cable
  • Cons: After using little over 2 years, my PSU is dead. In fact, it may have caused my MOBO fried. My pc had "the blue screen" intermittenly. I also wonder if the PSU caused it as well. After going through the "pin" test I confirmed that the PSU is deal. I emailed the customer service for warranty, but ...

Best PSU I've ever owned.

Corey C., Newegg
24 January 2014
  • Summary: This PSU is more then worth it if you can ever find any more out there! This is a real work horse!
  • Pros: I bought this PSU back in 2007, to run a pair of 8800 GT's in SLI mode, so I could play the original Crysis game when it game out. Since then, this PSU has been through 3 rebuilds... ran a GTX 275, a Radeon 5850, a Radeon 6950... and has ran strong with all of them. Current system is an i5-2500K ...

Reliable

Mary S., Newegg
28 December 2013
  • Summary: Always make sure that your power supply is strong enough to handle your computer. I've heard nightmare stories from my friends about that.
  • Pros: I bought this when I was building my gaming computer, and it have never failed me. I have an open air case so over-heating is never an issue, and it has always been very reliable.
