Thermaltake Litepower 450W Power Supply Review

16 June 2009
  • Summary: Conclusion The Thermaltake Litepower 450W Power Supply is a fairly stable power supply. While this card probably won’t handle the most powerful graphics cards it surely can handle some decent cards with the 450W. This small, compact power supply has a lot for its class and would certainly be a reliable power supply for someone who uses it. It can be found online for around $80, which might seem a little hefty price for only 450W of power.

Thermaltake Litepower 450 W Power Supply Review

  • Summary: This is an excellent entry-level power supply, with efficiency between 84% and 85% if you pull between 40% and 80% from its maximum load (between 180 W and 360 W). During light load (20% load, i.e., 90 W) and full load (450 W) efficiency was at 82.5%, still above 80% and fair enough for an entry-level product. We wonder why other manufacturers don’t follow Thermaltake’s steps and release really high-efficiency products for this market segment.

  • Summary: The Thermaltake LitePower 450W is a prime example of a mainstream power supply that is good enough to serve in an entry-level gaming performance role. With two +12v rails, a single 6-pin PCIe and up to 450W of continuous power, the LitePower 450W is simply not going to handle a high-end video card.
