Summary: - I bought a new video card (GTX 650 Ti Boost) to replace a GTX 260. Once I plugged it in the PSU lit on fire and proceeded to smoke. I have been building computers since the mid 90s and have never had a PSU fail like this.
Pros: - I originally wanted the fanless SS-520FL version, but I have yet to see/hear the fan come on yet.
Cons: - My first PSU had the dreaded coil whine that you've probably read about. Yes, it was a v2.
Pros: This thing scored 10s across the board in performance at JonnyGuru and it's easy to see why. Near perfect voltage regulation, excellent ripple and noise suppression and over 90% efficiency from 10 to 100% load!
Cons: Price. But you absolutely get what you pay for.
Summary: But again, form vs function. There's no happy median at the moment, so buy this PSU and stop looking inside the case. It's so quite, people will think it's an HP or something anyway, so no need to showcase the PSU.
Pros: I did my homework twice before purchasing a replacement PSU. I know now why I read so many good things about this unit. It's expensive, but parts like these are what set builds ahead.
Cons: The only shortcoming I see are the aesthetics of the case. I had a Coolermaster UCP 900, which looked military grade, coated in black wrinkle finish. The SeaSonic is not as impressive to look at.
Summary: Some people have complained that the cables are a bit short, but I think they are OK. I suppose if you have a HUGE case, then it might be problematic.
Pros: Please ignore the comment/review below mine - the poster can't even put half a sentence together or even really state what the problem was (it could have been the power supply, but he never specifies the issue at hand).
Cons: Relatively expensive, but it's worth the price even without the promotion/discount. However, for someone on a budget, there are cheaper options which are nearly as good (Corsair/Seasonic 80+ GOLD options primarily).
Pros: I got this for a Xmas present to replace a Seasonic X750. I wanted to SLI 2 GTX 480's and the 750 might have been pushed to it's threshold powering both plus an OC'd i5 2500K and all my other components but the Seasonic Platinum 1000 doesn't break a sweat. It's Silent in Hybrid mode, has more cable than I need, has an excellent build quality and is just plan the best 1000 watt PSU money can buy.
Summary: Helt underbart nätaggregat. Fullt modulärt, tillräckligt med kraft och helt tyst :) Man kan inte bli annat än lycklig men smakar det så kostar det. Om ni har råd så är det här helt annan och mycket bättre kvallitet än corsair. KÖP KÖP KÖP.
