Great PSU for the price

John B., Newegg
13 May 2015
  • Pros: Works great in my Mini ITX Build, barely any audible sound.
  • Cons: The wires can be kind of bulky but that's the nature of non-modular power supplies.

Fantastic PSU

Anonymous, Newegg
26 April 2015
  • Pros: What's to complain about? I installed this in a new build for my father in Dec, 2009 and it's still going strong, despite being in a bottom mounted case that sits on berber carpet with dog and cat dander floating around. Has never overheated, or even hiccuped.
  • Cons: None

Died during initial system setup.

Nicholas C., Newegg
26 March 2015
  • Summary: Looking forward to waiting 2-4 weeks for RMA process to be completed and hoping the replacement meets the standards I have come to expect from Rosewill.
  • Pros: It has blue LEDs and a manual off switch for said blue LEDs
  • Cons: purchased as part of http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2188000 This PSU performed solidly for approximately 3 hrs. Then died and multi tool confirmed nothing to any rails whatsoever.

Using to Power a Bitcoin Miner

Richard J., Newegg
8 March 2015
  • Summary: This power supply is currently powering a Bitmain Antminer S1 that has been converted to an S3. Stable power to this unit is crucial as only two PCI-E plugs power this device and there is no draw from any 12V Rail. United needed 450W and this power supply fit the bill at a very reasonable price
  • Pros: Good build quality, cables are more than long enough to reach devices within a full ATX Case with ease. Rolled edges so your not slicing your fingers open, steady voltages ( Spikes are minimal ) Fan is quiet but effective and keeps the PSU Cool
  • Cons: None yet

Nicely Priced

Matt P., Newegg
5 February 2015
  • Summary: I am thinking of upgrading to an 850 psu, but this was a great PSU for the money and is continue to be working.
  • Pros: I have owned this since July 2012. Great Price, works great and braided wires are a nice touch, plus it has blue lights so...yeah
  • Cons: cables too short and its no modular(which i knew when i bought it) ATX case it is installed on and the cables are too stiff and short.

My Review (of the Rosewill Stallion RD500-2DB)

Gordon M., Newegg
30 January 2015
  • Summary: While I got it at a decent price, it failed on me so I have to pay shipping costs to have Newegg test it and then they will eventually either send a second or refund or say no go. I had to go out and pay top dollar for a similar PSU in order to keep "connected" with the world.
  • Pros: + Nicely braided wires + LED lit + Price
  • Cons: - It died on me within three days of usage (12V stopped transferring) - Tiny fans (~80mm) get noisy
